I'm back, did you miss me....
Yeah right, most of you dont; know me form a hole in the wall. OK here is the scoop and I'm sure I'll get the "I told you so" crowd. I owned a 04 TL that was a rattle, squeaky haunted house on wheels. Last year got a 06 and wsa pleased with it until gas hit $3.50 and did some soul searching as to why I was driving that car, and decidided to buy a Camry Hybrid. I enjoyed that car, it is a different ride for sure, but a good one. And honestly if it were better equipped I would have lived with it. But agter 2 TLs and the 06 with Navi, going to the Camry Hybrid was too many compromises. I could have lived with the change in ride quality, but the notroious year one issues I can't deal with. Also the crappy LCD display for HVAC and radio are pitiful in the Camry. I missed, Navi and the excellent ergonomics of the TL too much and finally broke down this week and got a 07 TL with Navi. Yeah I know from a financial postions this was a stupid move ths year, but you know I can't take th emoney with me and have no family to leave it to, so what the hell, right. Having been there I can't fault anyone for going green, but I suggest if you consider it you really understand yourself and your desires honeslty and truly. I also leanred that I am not one for year one cars, too many small BS issues, likes squeaks and rattles. My new approach is to get the mid-life refresh as I believe you get the best value for the money and get all the bells and whistles and almost all the bug fixes. I am glad to be back and DRIVE ON!

yeah I think I remember that thread and I may have made a comment. I didn't see the financial sense in switching to the plain jane camry then nor do I see any going back to a 07 TL. It just seems like a waste of money for BS issues like you said. However, to each his own. Welcome back I guess.

Yeah, you went through the year one hassles twice, with the TL and the Camry Hybrid.
Well, welcome back!

I also became concerned about gas mileage when gas hit $3.50/ gallon, but couln't see my self back in a Civic, or any other small car (although I had a 1994 EX Coupe which I loved). I would miss heated seats, Acura's Navi, and Bluetooth phone too much. Plus, my mileage is on average 26 mpg, which is fine for most people I'm sure (unless you're going > 100 miles per day).
Enjoy your new ride!

We love our 1998 Japan-built Camry. 152,000 trouble-free miles. The new Camrys have had some glitches with the V6 6AT transmissions - however, no Acura driver can possible knock Toyota for transmission things without being a huge example of hypocrisy. They're still wonderful cars.
Welcome back to Acurazine, Keith. The 07 TL has a lot of nice upgrades.

Gas prices never really bother me... It's a fact of life if you want transportation and/or any device using petrol.. The money folks waste swapping vehicles to gain an extra 5 -12 mpg (even 20) would have put gas in the original vehicle for nuuuuuumerous months if not years!! Where's the logic in that.
However, depending on the level of mental anguish stemming from vehicle issues, sometimes getting rid of the car is worth it, but even that didn't work out for you......
Best of luck with your 07TL
