If battery is dead, how to open trunk?

Does anyone know how to open the trunk if the battery is dead on a 04 TL? I had this happen the other day and I was frantically trying to open the trunk but couldn't bc it is tied in electronically. Any help is appreciated, thanx.

I believe if you pull down the rear armrest, then the color matched piece, then the plastic door, there is a lever up above that you can pull to open

yep - open the little door that goes thru the seat into the truck and find the handle
Its for kids who get locked in the truck

Ummm, can't you just press the button beneath the steering wheel console to the left of the driver? In my 06, there is a button that controls the trunk opening located over there; it is a bit above the hood lifting handle.

I can picture myself banging my head on the trunk lid trying to figure out how to get to the jumper cables in the trunk. Thanks for the tip that will someday save me frome the headache...

It would be nice to have the trunk release button where the license plate lights are just like the TSX.

It would. I've always wondered why we dont. Anyway, wouldnt that require battery still?

It would if it were the same setup as the TSX, where it's an electronic trigger rather than a mechanical release.
