I received a letter from AHM (ACURA)...REFUNDS, WARRENTY, CASH BACK ???
It seems like there will be a class action lawsuit.
I'm not the person to cut up the letter word for word.
Anyone have a brief explantion and ways to get Cash back ?

They feel the odometers are over enthusiastic by about 5%. The only way you would get money back is 1)If you leased and had to pay a mileage penalty for going over yor allotted mileage 2)If you paid for a repair between 50,000 and 52500 that should have been covered by warranty.

Err yeah it's only like 3 pages and only takes about a minute to skim the whole thing through and get the jist of how to get money back. In fact, on the last page, there is a nice little table that clearly explains all the ways you can qualify for cash back. Not that hard

Top of page 3 - If you leased your vehicle from a company other than Honda......and then there is a bullet and details on how to get back the "overcharges" (because in fact you paid a penalty that may not have been a vaalid penalty)...If you did not get charged a penalty, then you cannot get a refund of monies you had previously paid (because you never paid them in the first place, duh!)....
Of course, the Attorney's get 9.8 million irregardless as long as the settlement is approved. I think I'll "request to be excluded" from the class just to be a pain in their butts (more paperwork, filing, etc). I think everyone here who did not lease shouldl do the same thing and that way we can vote with our wallets (that the attorney's aren't going to be the only ones profiting off of this error on Honda's part).
I assume this is only applicable for the original owner who bought this car new?

Cruisin'
Got mine last night - I was under the impression after skimming it that for "Owners" (not leasees) the settlement gave us an extra 5% mielage on our standard warranties - in other words, an extra 1800 miles past the 36,000 warranty, an extra 3500 miles past the standard 70,000 etc. UNLESS you had already gone past the calendar dates. I think this applies to all Owners including used car owners in the 2002 -2006 honda/acura car lines.
Of course, I could have read the damn thing wrong since I hate legal crap !

IRREGARDLESS is not a word . I once had a teacher who got so pi$$ed off with a student using irregardless (instead of just regardless) that she said the correct word was DISIRREGARDLESS! Fellow student didn't get the joke. JC
