I have a base model 2004 TL in DGP and have done the blue LED mod throughout the interior. Now I want to do something for the outside. My oem rims are pretty curbed, so I was thinking about smoothing them out and painting them gunmetal, along with front grill molding, the strip above the license plate, the front and back A's and the badges. Whaddya think? Should I leave it debadged or put them back after painting?

it's really up to you. I debadged my car, and i love it. You can always debage and if you don't like it, slap it back on, cost less then $5. I have never seen gunmetal rims on DGP, or alot of hooked up DGP at all. it should be interesting to see. I think your best bet is for pur white rims!!! they should look sexy with your color TL.

 

Larry, fixing your wheels is always good. If you have the money for the gunmetal extras, they're always nice. Many guys like the debadged look. Do you already have tints?

 

I think gunmetal or silver wheels would be a good contrast for the DGP. I say debadge it also...looks much cleaner!

 

Put the badges back on.

I already painted the rear badges, A and license plate strip and put them back on. I think they look down right purty! Hopefully this weekend the front end. I'm also wanna paint the calipers. I'm thinkin' black, cuz I think red would clash too much with the green and gunmetal.
