I need opinions...
Ok, I need some opinions, minus smartass comments please.
I am going to Hendrick Acura next Friday to explore my options of trading my 07 TL Base WDP in on a 2008 NBP Type S. I know that I have some negative equity in the car, but I'm just going to go in and see what they can offer me, all I'll lose is an hour or so.
My car is a lease, and they know that, prior to me going in. I have made 9 payments and the payoff is $30000.
Can someone give me a good idea of what a decent deal would be on a Type S lease considering my situation? I know I will have to pay some down and I'm prepared for that, just really unsure of how much.
Thanks!!!!!!!

I'm not an expert in this area by any means but from what I understand, you'd likely be much better off trying to sell your car and pay Acura/Honda finance the pay off amount and start a new lease. (Easier said then done I know)
You would have many more options and bargining power starting a new lease on the Type S and you'd minimze your out of pocket money.
But like you said, your first move would be to go in and talk to your sales rep for a bit an go over all your options.
Good luck either way. If you do get your Type S you woun't be disapointed

Here's a guess.
Your payoff is $30,000. Lets say the value of the car on trade is $27,000. So minus $3k - call that the Down Payment on a new lease - IOW give the dealer $3k on the WDP and call it even, but nothing additional OOP on the new lease.
Any more than that in negative equity and I'd question whether you should even consider trading up; you'd be losing too much.
'08 TL-S Selling Price should be ~$35.5k or $36k.
A good deal would be no money down on the lease, 12,000 miles per year, residual ~56% of MSRP, 3 year term @ ~$500 per month including NC use tax (~$485 before tax), 1st payment ONLY out of pocket. Comes with Wheel Locks, Trunk Tray and Splash Guards.
If you can do better than that, you're getting a very good deal.
If you can't get close to that contact Roger Call or Laura Small at Flow Motors in Winston-Salem and see what they can do for you. Flow won't jerk you around; They'll give you a good deal first time out.
Just a guess and worth exactly what you paid for it.
Good Luck. Let me know how it works out.
Edit: Here's another suggestion. Drop by CarMax on the way over to Hendrick and see what they'd offer you for a direct sale on the WDP. At least you'll have an idea on what to expect from Hendrick.

oh whoops. didnt see the "minus smart-ass comments" part
believe me, i thought of trading in my 06 5AT for an 06 6MT, when the car was still new, and i was financing it (already had like 10k paid)
and the loss was TOO much for me to handle..

I contacted Flow Acura in Winston Salem to get some pricing on leasing. The internet sales person told me I need to be referred back to Hendrick, they couldn't save me any money. However we never even discussed pricing at either place. If they can't that's fine, but it just seems like poor customer service to not even provide someone with pricing on the car. I'm a little shocked.

In my opinion Flow sucks, cuz I went there first when i was looking at the TLs and they didnt give two shits about me. Crown on the otherhand went head over heals to make the sale with me. I will go back to Crown if I ever buy a car in NC again.
But on terms of trading your leased TL in for a TL-S lease, Its gonna cost you more than 3K to make that deal. IMO not worth it

yea but crissy ur talking to the idiot internet sales person what makes u think they want to give u info?? they are the internet people for a reason....to get u in to buy the car.....not to give u pricing options. u should call the actual location or just go there. even if its far it doesnt hurt.

You might check out LeaseTrader. I don't think I'm allowed to post the link, but it's leasetrader ... umm, I'm sure you can figure out the rest of the URL.
I've never used them, so I can't vouch, but I like the concept. Didn't find any TLs last time I looked, couple months ago.
Hope that helps!

Fly over to LA and pay 1000 down and 440-480 a month(<sick deallll) If you need some info PM me and ill see what i can do for you. Thats if your down to do all that and if you think its worth your while. Its far fetched but its a plan

How can u trust someone taking ur payments over??? Ive seen way toooo many problems arise from that type of deal. the flight n hotal alone would cost more than what ur lookin to spend, far fetched is being nice. 440-480 is a sick deal but no matter where u go taxes hit u from ur licensed state. so if u go to NY to get the car with a cali license u pay cali tax u go to Cali with a FL license u pay FL tax.
