ok a 2003 TL-S with CAI and ATLP exhaust vs 2004 Dodge Neon Srt-4 im pretty sure the neon has CAI and some kind of exhaust and people keep telling me he has stage 3 turbo.

We are going to do a mile race.

I kinda raced the neon this past summer from a rolling start a 30 mph and got up to only about 80 and i had about a 1/2 car length on him then he hit his brakes and then later tells me his radar detector went off, even though i have one also and mine didnt go off at all and i kept going anyway and didnt see any cops ahead or behind. I told my friend about the baby race later and he told me that he likes to start his races rolling at 30 mph cuz that is when his turbo kicks in. So what do you guys think?

On paper you got him beat? Nahh dude he has you down. Your TL-S runs like what.... high 14's low 15's? somewhere in that area. Stock SRT-4 fresh off the line with a good driver will do low 14's maybe high 13's I hear. A mile race could be different but yeah I think the initial lead he gets on you will be enough to keep you off his ass before the end of the race. I say just leave this one a lone.

X, please for the love of God don't street-race. It's stupid, and you're only one blown time or blown transmission from losing your life at high speeds, or worse yet, making someone ELSE lose their lives. If you're going to race, do it at the track where it's much safer. I beg you.

yes, w/o the spare tire in the trunk your car will weigh less than a SRT-4. His turbo 5-speed will have nothing on you.

I found this online comparing an '03 TL-s to a '03 SRT-4. The 2004 SRT-4 is rated with 15hp more than the '03. The SRT-4 will pull away from the TL-S and continue to a higher top speed.

A mile race is a long race, don't forget dude the TL has a VERY long 4th gear, so once you hit 4th expect to be passed.

I'm surprised you guys are even attempting this, seems like everyone should already know SRT wins, especially with aftermarket performance upgrades.

 

Come on man its an SRT-4 it will beat you before he even puts the key in the ignition.
