Hey guys just want to state that these are not even in production yet and I am not a certified vendor yet, Once I fill out all the paperwork and get approved we can talk group buy, Right now I am looking for Ideas on what name paltes we should go with and if you like the idea. I just wanted to state that so we could 100% follow the site rules. I am pretty excited about the whole concept though,

Thanks Eggroll. I sent you a PM, The Guy who is taking on the project was one of the orginal makers of this product for Mercedes Benz, They used to charge 600.00 as an option. He now started his own business, I am going to help him market the product. We have working Demos for the Mercedes and 94-04 Mustangs right now. He tells me the fit should be 100% just like factory so will see when we get the first demo made aprox 30 days from today. I will take pics and keep you all informed.

What you want is Electro-luminescent Tape (ELTape).. used in PC mods .. here's two options
http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...378&pfp=BROWSE
http://www.jab-tech.com/customer/pro...&cat=62&page=1
Not very expensive and comes with it's own inverter...

Great Question, I just called the Maker, He says we can have them made so when one door is open they all turn on or we can have them done so only the door you open turns on.
Let me know.
There may be a little more that needs to be done with the wiring to make them all go on at once as soon as I get a solid answer I will get back to you.

The sill lighting would definitely have to be a perfect match with the rest of the car's ambient blue lighting. Otherwise it might throw everything off. I think that it would also be better if the sills only light up when the respective door is ajar. Wouldn't it be kind of a waste to have all of them illuminate if no one would be able ot see them due to the other doors being shut?
Hope all goes as planned and please keep us updated on this project.

I think one should look like the original one that just says "Acura". I think for the rear ones putting the "TL" will be too long. I am interested in this mod....

Guys We are going to cut 5 different sample plates by Next Friday.
Here is what we are going with
ACURA
ACURA TL "Cant be used on Rear"
ACURA-TL "Cant be used on Rear"
A-SPEC
TL
I will post pics when there done and you guys can choose what you like best I dont want to go with more then 3 Plates, The more we go with the higher the price, to cover the cost. Right now we Should be able to keep this at 149.95 for 4 Sills 2 Front 2 Back.
There will be Directions on how to wire the set up, 2 Diffrent Choices,
A: Doors Light up Individually when opened and dim out with the Factory Lights when doors are closed.
B: All Doors light up when one door is opened and dim out with the Factory lights when doors are closed.
Hope that answers your questions.

This is a spectacular idea (like I said from the start) and I'm glad it's developing some steam.
But, I do have to ask -- why would you need all of them to be illuminated and fade off with the cabin lights when the door sills are covered by the doors?

Just showing that we can do it if its requested, Trying to be as flexiable as possible for all. Trying also to feel everybody out I know cost is real important. I will also need to sell around 100 of these kits so I dont lose my shirt, But I think its a great Idea and will have lots of demand. I will keep you all updated threw the process.

Ok I thought about it some. Heres my electric plan. i THINK there are 2 ways to do this. One is to T-Tap (get power from) the wires that power the 4 overhead map lights. That would have the Coolest effect of lighting up when you open your doors and fading when you close them. The only problem is that the wire is soooo far away (which means I would need a long power wire, which is not a problem). AND it would involve removing the overhead console which is no easy piece of cake. BUT I think it is very possible. What do you guys think. Theoretically, the lights would be on when and only when you have your 4 map lights on (i.e. when you press the unlock key on your keyfob). The only slightly annoying thing that might bother some folks might be the idea of having the lights on when your using your map light to read something or find something maybe? I dont know. But Hey I like the idea of the fading like the map lights do. The OTHER idea is somewhat more efficient and involves T-tapping into the complimentary Door Lights. Those dont fade but theyre on whenever you open you door which thus is the most effiecient. The only problem is The back two Doors dont have those Lights so I dont know if the wire for it exists or not. But I know for sure the front two door lights only recieve a current when and only when the doors are open. Just a couple Ideas to throw at yall. Were still pretty far though this will materialize eventually. Any opinions? Thanks!

Wait, I just realized your you cant see your lights fade unless your doors are open. Ay! Im getting Dillusional haha. 20 hours w/o sleeeep is starting to get to me lol. Thus only the 2nd plan would be logical.

Personally, I would prefer:
Acura
- or -
Acura TL
If "Acura TL" does not fit in the back sills, then I would probably get all "Acura" around the car...
For the wiring, I think it would be practical to have the sills light up for the door that is open. For the other doors that are closed, you really would not be able to see it, so it is pointless...
This is definitely a great idea...I would be very thankful to all who have taken the initiative to make this happen!!!

How about "Acura TL" on the front sills and "Acura" on the rears?

Thanks for the feedback guys I will post our proto type as soon as it comes in, Again about 30 days,
I think they are going to come out great, Just as an FYI we were able to fine the same bulbs that are used in the Dash and the two pin blue lights that project down, The Blue Color and GLow will be a 100% match to the Dash.
