I feel mildly guilty

I have 3500 miles on the TL and have not changed the oil yet. I didn't even check when the first one is do. Usually I always do the first one at 1000 miles, but this is my first lease, so all rules are out the window. When is a good time to do the first one on the TL?? Please don't make me break out the owners manual, which I have no clue as to its whereabouts.

When the MID tells you to, thats when you change the oil.

The only way I would go by the mid is if I was using Mobil1, which is good for 15k miles, so they say.

I predict this thread will hit 3 pages.....

Just kidding - I'm kinda a just in the middle between MID and "my" idea of when it needs changed...

My first change was at ~3500 miles and even that went against my better judgment. My second was after another 4500 miles. My last few I watched the mid down to about 30% but will not let it exceed 5500-6000 miles between changes. Lately I have used 5W-20 Castrol. I plan to switch to the Havoline G4? stuff next fill (as per some of our oil experts here on the forum ).

I would feel safe going by the mid with a full synthetic. People always bitch about oil prices, but I mean, 30 bucks(max) in oil is not too bad. If it was the ENZO price, thats another thing. How much is the mobil1 extended performance per quart?

I change the oil every 3000 to 3300 miles. Treat your leased car as if you own it, because when have to turn it back in those folks at the dealership may be on the picky tip.
