I did it!

After months of research and studying the forums, I finally placed my order!

I'm now awaiting delivery of my ABP/Quartz TL w/auto + Navi. I was told that I should have it around two weeks. Final price with destination, mats, and wheel locks is $33K. The purchase was made at Acura of Valley Stream (Long Island, NY).

I test drove a similar car with 1,600 miles today. I did notice a number of rattles, so I'm a bit concerned about that. The 1993 Toyota Camry I'm selling doesn't rattle even with 103K miles. Other than that, I was impressed with the ride, handling and power of the car.

It's going to be a LONG two weeks...

Do we have a Team ABP yet?? If not, I nominate myself as VP!!

Thanks to all for the informative posts that guided my decision.

We are called "The Abyss". You have to pick a more ominous title than VP.

If I could get that price, I would do it today also.

I went to two dealers. The first one quoted me $33,595, but negotiated down to $33K unhappily. I didn't really care for the sales rep's attitude, so I called the second dealer who came back with the $33K price without additional negotiation.

I went into the process with the $33K price as my benchmark. I established that figure based on the published invoice prices and what I've read on the many pricing threads in this forum.

I don't know if region affects pricing, but based on what I've seen and my experiences, the $33K price is definitely attainable.

Good luck!

Excellent, though it won't fit on my business cards!

Just put it on two lines. It'll still look very professional. When you drop your car off for service at the dealer you can simply give them the business card with all your contact information. Make sure they address you as "Mr. Supreme Underlord, sir!"

Thank you. Excellent idea! Note the new title...

Does anyone have experience with the Helms manuals for the TL? Is it the OEM Acura manual manufacturer? I asked about the Field Service Manuals when I placed my order and the salesman handed me a flier from Helms.

Assuming I get good feedback about the Helms manuals, I'll order the mechanical and electrical manuals as soon as I get the car.

Thanks!

I just got my VIN! The S/N is 55349, so I hope there are plenty of running changes incorporated to fix the various little complaints I've heard about from this forum.

My 1993 Camry has been sold, I ordered the field service manuals, and I hope to be driving my 2004 TL/ABP/Quartz/5spd/Navi car by some time next week.

Yeehaa!!
