Too funny, I thought this was a joke after your comments regarding the Type S only a day before you bought one

Either way glad you came to your senses. Congrats and enjoy the Type S

Congrats jeowen!
I'm going to get a 08 TL this May when my c230 lease runs up. I am really torn between a base TL and TL-S. I test drove an 06 before, and found it kinda jarring on the freeway imperfections. The reported smoother ride of the 07-08 base models still kinda interest me, but I don't know if they lose a step on the 06 TL. I personally could do without the decklid spoiler and quad exhaust of the TL-S, which is why I kind of gravitate towards the base model, but the TL-S just seems way cool, and I don't want to regret NOT getting it down the road... I don't think I'm much different than you. If you could, can you please provide a good honest objective write-up of the TL-S over the base? These are the topics I'm most interested in:
1) Body Roll Control - Significant difference or subtle?
2) Ride on harsh surfaces - Better / Worse than the 07 base.
3) Gas Mileage difference?
4) Front Seat bolsters? A noticeable difference for a skinny guy?
5) How have your acclimated to the dark wheels? (I like bright silver wheels)
6) Brembo's vs. no Brembo's, how significant?

I know this is a lot, but your input would be extremely valuable, as I've already searched the old threads, but am still not convinced towards getting the TL-S just yet. I'd probably get a White Pearl one. Thanks big time in advance!

We can tell you all of these things, but you kinda have to be sucked in by the TL-S. I just bought one over the regular. If you by the regular are you planning to get navi on it?? If you are for just $2000 more, you have a faster car, nice wheels, sport suspension, strut bar, awesome brakes, racing two tone seats, fog lights, crome accents, quad exhaust, carbon fiber interior, and custom brake lights. I think its well worth it. Just add on a CAI for $200 and you will be pushing 300hp! I beat a IS350 the other day with my TL-S. aahhhh the pride.

But I would suggest that you go to a dealer and test drive both. They are practically the same, but for the extra 2k i think its worth it.!! Good luck on your decision

Thanks msala. Appreciate your insight. I apologize in advance but I reposted my post in jeowen's other new thread with his NBP pics in it.

Dchian- Msala said it as well as I can, I was VERY CONTENT with the 07 Base...very happy, however to quote Msala " you kindof have to be sucked in". You are right, all the hesitations that you are currently facing I faced 8 months ago when I purchased the 07. I wasnt too hot on the quads, the wheels..ect...and if you read my postings in the thread "Tl-s" it was my final attempt to not be "sucked in" ... however Both cars are FANTASTIC- it really boils down to personnal preference..i have been an athlete my whole life..played in school, and extreme competitve...the TYPE S ( for the $$ range ) really TO ME embodies more of a Sport mentallity..thats what i ultimately want out of my sedan- the TYPE S has a much quicker response to it, and with the suspension more responsive for spirited driving..plus the 2 tone leather is beautiful.. best wishes on your decision, if you are one who desires more of a sport feel, then the TYPE S is the car..if not the TL-P is a wonderful alternative
