HVAC, Auto, and the high fan speed?

Hi there,

I've had a couple of cars in the past (Cadillac and a Chrysler) that had automatic climate control systems. In each of those cars, you could push in a 'secret' combination of buttons in order to allow the HVAC to use the highest fan setting or not if it was extremely hot or cold outside.

Right now, my Acura will not use the highest fan setting ever. Even if it is 20 degrees and I want it 72. I have to manually adjust the fan speed to the highest setting for the first 5 mins or so, and then manually put it back into auto, and then kick the a/c off.

I would like it to just use the highest fan speed when it's really cold out. Is this possible?

Sure, just push the ^ button on the fan emblem button, and you can go as high as you want.

Reason why is that the system will get up to operating level, and then the fan speed kicks up. No point of blowing cold air!

If you use "auto", system will set it's own speed.
The fan emblem adjustment manually overrides it.

if u press auto it gets to the highest fan speed gradually. but the heat from the heating components have to be there first in order for the heat to start blasting really hard. It does that so if u find the fan speed you want as its going up u can just press the speed control button and it will stay there.
