How's this for a bad dealer experience

Bought my 07 TL-S 5AT from TISCHER ACURA in Laurel, Maryland four weeks ago. Made an appointment today to get permanent plates, install sun roof visor and mud guards. Waited for two hours and car comes out w/o mud guards or plates. Service advisor says they ordered the wrong mud guards and the tech just forgot to install the plates. So, I waited two hours for a sun roof visor to be installed. I could have done all three in about ten minutes. They will never see us again and we were about to pull the trigger on a second TL-S for my wife. They just lost all our business.

^+2 That reaction seems a bit harsh based on what you've described. Is there more to the story, or do I just have a higher tolerance for mistakes?

Being over-the-top is nothing new here.

It was TWO WHOLE HOURS!!

With that kind of time wasted, he could've had sex with his wife and watched 1h 55 mins of a movie.

Time to find another dealer if you plan to use the dealer for service.

Imagine what they'll do with something difficult.

Wow, this is a tough crowd. I just didn't think it was a big deal for them to install the visor and guards while I was there picking up the plates. I have an old Integra and do plenty of work myself. The service manager I made the appointment with for the plates said they would have me in and out. He never said it would take TWO HOURS to install a visor. If he did I would have just picked the **** up and done it myself. I don't dare think how long they would take for an oil change. The only reason I need a dealer if for warranty work and I have two other dealers nearby for that. I use a local honda shop for all major work on our other hondas. Have been using them for ten years with no problem. btw, on a lighter side, I absolutely love this car. Unfortunately, so does my wife. We're buying another one (from another dealer) just for her.

There WAS more to the story (and NOT what cat suggested)!

I use Tischer for all of my warranty work on my TL and my Titan truck and have had no issues with them.. Oil change I was in and out in 30-45 minutes on a Saturday morning... I also get a loaner with both of them when in service... No problems with previous Murano we had either....

just my .02

Sorry. You're right. Any good rant should be free from reproach. Just trying to make a funny.

And the dealer should've let the OP know if they we having trouble or had the wrong parts.

And thats what *I* would've done with my two hours.

I tried to buy my TL-S from them. The sales manager "Mike" BSed soo much that I left.

That dealership is a joke. I'd never go there again. I took my money and bought my TL-S at Chevy Chase. If you don't mind me asking, what did you end up paying OTD for your TL-S with splash guards and sunroof deflector?

Igor911, thanks for the reply. I paid 37600 OTD, tax, dest, mud guards, trunk tray, all weather mats, sun roof visor. One week after I bought it they added the $2500 manufacturer to dealer incentive. I think I could have done better, but at the time I felt invoice for an 07 TL-S was a fair price since there were no incentives in place (from Edmunds) at the time. Sans the bad dealership experience, we absolutely love this car. As I said, we are buying a second one (an 08) just for the wife, but not from Tischer. I don't want an 09 since I never buy a car in its first year.

Yeah, Tisher Acura doesn't have the best service. What's funny is that I bought my 06 non-navi TL from them and always take it to Pohanka Acura for service...lol.

Igor11:

I actually bought my car from Mike. Got it for 30K plus taxes back in Aug 06. I could have probably got a better deal elsewhere, but I was just way too eager to get a TL.
