Talking Howdy, little help please

Hello everybody. I have been reading your boards for about a week now and I have gained a lot of info on the new TL. I will be buying one the end of the month and I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a dealership? I live in the Northern VA area and would be willing to go to MD for a new car. I'm even considering traveling up to NJ for the deals they got up there. Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

Sorry, I live about as far from there as you can get.
There have been lots of price and dealer service post from your area including NOVA. If nothing comes up you may want to PM RoadRage or Southernboy. I think they are both in your area and provide great info on this board. Welcome (almost) and good luck with your purchase.

I bought mine at Pohanka in Chantilly in February - no complaints. Haven't had it in there for service yet, though, so the jury's still out on that. I used their Internet sales guy, Bryan Cuthbert, and he was very nice and very lowkey. No pressure - just helpful. Good luck and enjoy your new TL - it's a great car!!!

if you like to come down to houston, there are few good dealerships here. Sterling McCall Acura, Gillman Acura, and John Eagle Acura.

I bought from Pohanka and was generally pleased, there was almost no negotiation due to the demand for the car, I went in with an Edmunds price which was $1k off MSRP. They were willing to match it for a White/Parchment model, since they had a few on the lot, but were ony willing to go $500 under MSRP for the SSM/Ebony one that I wanted (it was the only one they had). My sales person was Jamez (I don't recall his last name) and he was very low key.

Before buying I called Radley and Rosenthal in Maryland. The Radley guy I spoke with told me he couldn't quote a price over the phone but to instead come in and he'd work with me. He told me he was the Internet sales manager but the real Internet sales manager called me a day after I bought my TL and told me he couldn't go under MSRP.

The Internet sales manager I spoke to at Rosenthal seemed very straightforward, he also told me they weren't dealing on the Nav models but he could make an offer MSRP on a non-nav.

Overall I'm pleased with how I was treated, Pohanka also throws in a free oil change and they didn't charge me for mud guards.

Try calling Tischer Acura in Laurel MD, or Norris Acura in Ellicott City MD.

Also you may want to PM Bluenote, he used to work at Tischer and knows a good saleman there.

I bought my 2nd gen TL-S from Karen Radley Acura in Woodbridge. The salesman was their internet guy, Kwame Gachette. Good price, straightforward deal (email quote which he honored six weeks later), efficient delivery, good service so far. They generally have a reasonable inventory of 3rd gen and can easily trade cars with Radley Acura. Go to the dealer website and email Kwame asking for a price quote on the car you want.

I bet if you pick the dealer you want to use and call the sales manager, they would probably match just about any deal you've found here.

However, don't forget the NOVA-tax. That's what I call the extra you guys have to pay for the same stuff.

If that doesn't work, I know the dealers around Baltimore do $500 - $750 over invoice with little effort.

NOVA tax?

Thanks for all the replies. I wonder if any one does know the "NOVA" tax associated with buying a new car in NoVA?

I just meant prices in Northern Virginia are significantly higher than Marlyand, especially around Baltimore - not literal.

Roshenthal Acura in Maryland has a 95 processing fee and Pohanka has a 245 processing fee. Rosenthal matched Pohanaka's best offer and threw in my options for free. I can drive 20 more minutes for 150 bucks and free options.

I dont mind at all. $33,373 (before taxes, processing fee, and title after destination fee) Athracite/Ebony with Navi plus wheel locks, splash guards, and trunk tray. Virginia Car tax (3%) is actually less than Virginia sales tax and it applies regardless which state you buy it. From what I have read on this board, you can get even better deals if you are willing to drive up to New Jersey. Thats the Northern Virgina Car Tax they are talking about. Arthur Parsons at Rosenthal and Dave Waters at Pohanka.

Got mine this month from Pohanka Acura.

Worth checking the Costco Auto program. I paid $33.205.05 for 5AT with Navi. Antracite with leather option.

Pohanka Acura's Costco program....$750 over invoice ( you have very little room to negotiate)

Radley Acura's Costco program...$1800 below MSRP

Good Luck
