How will I fit in my TL-S?
Hey fellow 'ziners.
I am currently looking to purchase a manual transmission TL-S. One big problem for me fitting in a car though, as I am 6'4" tall. I know that the seats are power, but I didn't know if the seats could be adjusted so that they were lower/higher up.
Also, if some people who own the car could post their height and how they fit in it (Leg Room, and Head Room) I would really appreciate it.
I did a search on "will I fit" and it only searched for "fit" so I wasn't able to find any threads containing the info I am looking for. Again, any input you all could provide would be appreciated.

I am 6'1 and my Dad is 6'7. We both fit fine in our TL's, with room to spare. The seats have a huge range of adjustability in all directions.
Granted both our cars are the 04-06 model, but I would assume the seating dimensions are very similar to your TL-S.

The seats can be adjusted up/down.

Im not tall or anything just average at 6ft, but I have always been impressed with how far it seems the seats can go back in the TL's. You will be very comfortable in the TL and I highly recommend the Type S so go for it.
My only complaint with the TL is I sort of wish it would lay just a tad flatter. My Type S is 6mt so your contantly using the pedals and it just seems like the front lower portion is still tilted up too much. In the newer 09+ TL loaners I have had the seats are amazing!! Very comfortable and they get nice and flat to my liking. Dont get me wrong the Type S seats are very nice, but I have sat in cars with seats I like more.

Thank you all for your input, it is appreciated!
As far as finding a manual, I am willing to drive quite a distance to get one. I figure, what the hell is 1400 miles round trip to get a car that I'll have for the next 7 years, you know?
But thank you all for the input. It is good to know that the seats have a lot of adjustment height wise. And as far as space goes, this has a lot more interior room than my 99 Civic LX I currently have (and will keep. I'll use it as my work transportation)!

WOAH! Idk if I've ever met an asian who was 6'.
MAN YOU GUYS ARE TALL! 5'10" here. It's easier if you lean the seat back in my opinion in most cars, and it helps that the seat moves down also. Though I don't have a TL...yet... maybe i've been in cars smaller than a TL. In my moms sentra I usually lean the seat back. I do that even in my own car and I like the seat all the way back and slide down in it some.

I'm also 6'4" and I fit just fine. I sit pretty far back, and I don't even have the seat all the way back, which is a nice change for once. I have to keep the seat as low as possible, though, otherwise my head lightly taps the roof/door frame.

I'm 6'3" and I can recline my seats far enough to basically lay flat and take a nap, without touching the pedals :-D. The seats are also adjustable up and down AND have lumbar support! Enjoy!

Damn, You Fuckers are Tall!!!! We can create a Basketball team with just Acruaziners... Im 5'9" and I fit well. No problems. Also The Steering Wheel in the Type-S, Maybe the same for the Base but I don't have one, is adjustable up and down and in and out. So that could help along side the Seat adjustment which is up, down, back, forth, and lumbar adjustment...

I test drove a lot of cars before I bought the S, and none of them were as spacious and comfortable for a taller person than this car.

Thanks for all of you input guys, I'm glad to know that I will fit no problem and that there are plenty of other tall folks who own TL's and are enjoying the ownership experience.
The sooner I can save up for a nice down payment, the sooner I'll get my car. I'm trying to keep the monthly payments low though since I have the wonderful gift of student loans coming up here shortly

YES I just discovered this in my TLS, I love that the steering wheel is telescoping. It allows me(6'3") to have my seat all the way back and have it leaned back while still being able to comfortably reach the steering wheel.

Steering wheel does not extend for enough complaint
I am 6'4" also and find the TL has a lot of room for our size but I do feel that the steering wheel does not extend far enough when I move the seat back to extend my legs into a comfortable driving position so I end up moving the seat up and driving in a more cramped seating position than I would like. But this is the same situation in most cars for our size and since you already drive a 99 Civic LX you will be fine in the TL.

Where Did My Garage Go?!!

lol the reason I pretty much bought this car was because how roomy and confortable it was. I am a little under 6' 3'' and find it very comfortable. Mainly the reason I chose this over the IS250 (too small) and G35 Coupe (head hit the roof liner). Sucks for whoever sits behind me and I usually move the seat up to give them some extra leg room, but its still not much

Wow OP you're 6'4 and you fit in a Civic? All the civic's I've driven (late 90's to current gen) all are tiny and I'm only 6'1!
If you can fit in a Civic you can definitely fit in a Type S. I was too surprised how far the seats went on the Type S, I had a Prelude before it and I loved it because it was a drivers car and the seat went back far but TL can go further! (I don't even have my seats back as far is it can go and have no problems with the pedal).
good luck in your hunt for a MT! I waited patiently for mine (she almost slipped away! thank god the person interested did not get approved on financing!)

+1 on the basketball team. Funny I never think about being tall when it comes to driving, until I get in almost any other car BUT my TL. Ironic that the guys who design these cars are probably all less than 5'6" and american cars who are supposed to be made for americans(who are typically much taller than 5'6" by americans are all made for guys who are 5'6"

Much taller and also much wider (well, some of us might not be )
Mau, yes I fit in my Civic very comfortably actually. It is one of the only small cars that I can fit in with no problem. I have enough leg and head room that it is not an issue. About the only time when I have to shift my body somewhat is when I start to drive spirited, as it have to cock my leg so that I can heel and toe on my downships. But other than that I love it!
I just want to how I would fit in another car so that if one does come up that is a good deal, I can jump on it and not worry about actually using the car lol.
On a different note, cars that were loaners: Were they typically a 36 month lease? And if so, when did the cars go on sale? Just trying to figure it out so that I can keep my eyes open for loaners that start coming back. Thanks!
