i know that the 07-08 tl you can turn on the fogs and in the bumper and the headlight on at the same time but ive seen the 05-06 tl with just the foglight and sidemarkers on w/o turning my hids..how can i do that ?

You need the DesignTech DRL module. Search for the thread about it.

That's also what I came up with. I researched around here a bit and that's the best way, use a DRL module. Have fun with the wiring.

If you live in NY, there is a place that a member on here recomended to me int he Bronx that will do it for like $60.

Anyone have any info on the wiring that needs to be done? I've wanted to do this mod, but getting up to the bronx and leaving my car there isn't always the easiest thing.

there are different ways to rewire it either using stock switch or adding another switch. i have the schematic i'll post it up tomorrow

can you just wire your fogs to be able to be turned on without the headlights? seems a bit much to buy a DRL kit for this mod.

yes but it would require running a cable from a switch( or the stock switch)

Me too! DRL mod is not that interesting to me, but being able to run just my fogs independent of my headlights would be golden!

The DRL mod is quite an easy mod guys, a novice could finish it off in 1 hr. Literally just like a 5 wire hookup under your hood.

thanks guys i will check it out, ill see how much it will be use the drl module but if i can find a way to run a wire to work with the switch it will be awsome...i have a couple of friend here in boston that are great with wiring and electronics so ill let you guys know soon

There are a BUNCH of threads...but none end up with a conclusive instruction or DIY on how to wire it up without the DRL or even to get that functionality WITH the DRL. Someone has to know!

you cant run your fogs independently in the 07+ .... i wish ya could

the 2G TL was real easy... i believe they just hadda cross two wires....

one would think that you can do that also in the 3G TL, but the headlights are like somehow tied into this cars already extremely confusing ECU system

i did some custom work on my friends e46 bmw... now THAT car has headlight issues.. the damn thing HAS an LCM (Light Control Module)... pretty much an computer that controls the headlights and stuff
