I have 06 6-speed manual TL..

I twisted the shiftknob to the left (lefty loosy, righty tighty), but it seems to rotate the shiftboot as well.. I didn't want to continue just to rip or tear the shift boot... I did notice there was a stopper right below the shiftknob but was unable to hold it and twist the knob itself..

Any help? suggestions?

Oops.. I thought I was in 3G.. sorry. Please move-mods!

 

Push down on the boot so it unclips from the knob than turn it counter clockwise. Takes a little muscle to get it to spin.
