How pleasantly surprised I was..

to find that the back windows go all the way down. It seems for safety reasons that all cars have been only going down 3 quarters or so. I think its cool

Im sure everyone here knows this, but when you first start the car and have to wait for the navi screen to get fired up and hit ok for the disclaimer, you don't have to wait as long for the audio screen. You can hit audio before the legal mess finishes, just hit and its there. My screen is always on audio. Just a heads up for those that may have needlessly waited for the disclaimer just to see the audio screen.

Safety may be the public explanation ("featurization") of this, but I sstrongly suspect physical interference with the bottom of the door (wrapping around the rear wheel wells) is the real driver for rear windows that don't fully retract.

longer wheelbase cars usually have rear windows that go down all the way, since the door doesn't have much of an arch at the bottom

I frequently do this, but I find that you have to do it pretty early or it doesn't work. Like just right after the nag screen comes on.

its not for safety, its because they can't fit in the doors...

I was as impressed with that as you are. In fact, that was one of the first questions I asked at my test drive. Even though it was February, I rolled them down just to see. I always hated driving around with the rear windows only 3/4 of the way down on my old car...looked so cheap.

Every Honda I've had has done this (including a 1982 Accord, which was decidedly NOT a longer-wheelbase vehicle). I concur on the "thumbs-up" icon.

Safety is a crappy exuse. If you cant trust your kid to stay in the car turn on the window locks, and control em yourself. If the kid is stupid enough to jump, what is stopping him from fitting above the 3/4 way down window? Unless you have a really fat baby, in which case you should not be driving him around instead walking him.
