DMZ,

1. How many miles on your rotors when you had them turned?
2. How much did they take off?
3. How much thickness was left after turning?

I have 62,000 miles on my rotors and I'm trying to decide if it's even worth turning them. Thanks

1. It was about 28,000 miles
2. I have no idea
3. I have no idea

Keep in mind most of those miles were from city driving. Your rotors may still be resufaceable.

Yeah, I just measured them at 23.5 mm (service limit is 23 mm). Probably going to go with new rotors anyhow. Thanks.

So, I am at 34+K. My lease is up in April. I need to put something in there. Can I just by the pads for $52- and drop them in like hockey pucks and be done with it? What is the bare bones way of getting the job done? I only need them to last about 5K.

Just do it your self and spare being raped by the dealership. Brembo brakes are really easy to work with. I have Sti Brembos on my wrx and Evo Brembos on the 240sx. I change the pads/ rotors on them a few times a summer due to track events. Only takes me about an hour for everything. Including bleeding the brakes.

Do you have a pointer to the DIY for the 07 type S brakes? I am in the process of ording new pads and while I have replaced many dis brake pads over the years have not done the Acrua ones before.

www.placeforbrakes.com has the genuine Brembo brand OEM replacement front rotors for about $140 including shipping for the pair and some of the best prices I've found on the net overall.
http://www.placeforbrakes.com/produc...&car_year=2004

Here's everything they have for '04/5/6 and '07/8 Type-S: http://www.placeforbrakes.com/produc...tegory_key=all

Normally, I go to the the stealership to have the brakes done when there's rotor resurfacing involved, but they're due for replacement in my upcoming brake job.

I also think I'm gonna go with the Monroe Ceramic pads this time as well, $40 from placeforbrakes.com

On my TSX I had R1 Concepts rotors, crossed drilled and slotted, front and back. Nice rotors for a great price. Here's the link for the TL Brembo rotors:

I ordered my pads and upgraded to drilled/slotted rotors from rotorpros here in SoCal. Call or e-mail Rich and tell him Tom L. recommended you. The set of performance pads was $ 80.00 when ordered with rotors. The dealer quoted me $ 280.00 just for front pads. I'm getting the whole job done ( front and rear ) for $ 100.00 at a local reputable brake shop.
