How much did you spend for your Window Tinting?

any pics of what the mole skin looks like?
i'm thinking 30% and ceramic film. The shop (shades of gray in PA) recommends metallic because of durability but i noticed that the majority on here recommend ceramic because of potential interference. anyone with first-hand experience?

lesson learned:
don't fu**ing cheap out on your tint like i did...i ended up paying even more to get it fixed also, don't forget about moleskin AND get the tint WITHOUT the metallic shit. bitter as you can see...
on a more positive note - happy turkey day

$195 for 5 windows + moonroof, 3M w/ lifetime guarantee. Original quote was 285, so definitely haggle and pay cash. Premium Glass and Tint in Sunnyvale, CA.

Also, they didn't recommend mole skin but rather they said they cut off part of the existing protecting-rubber/felt-stuff on the inside. They said that this will eliminate the material that touches the film, thus eliminating scratching. I'm not even sure what exactly they removed because I can't tell, I only know because they told me about it.

I'm thinking of getting Llumar ATR (metallic) 35% this Friday for $225. That's with moleskin included.
Can anyone definitely say that they've had metallic tint on their TL and had to remove it because of interference? Three out of four tint shops I've talked to about ceramic said it was just an upcharge and not really needed.

i believe i paid 250 through the dealer with lifetime warranty....
i noticed on my 09 loaner tl the other day that they are now using the felt strip on the inside of the window now, so you dont need the moleskin....

well they counted 7 windows since the little ones on the back door are a separate window apparently. Every shop does that here.
so 7 windows, 3M film with moleskin 300$. With lifetime warranty. And I can get hooked up with detailing for half the price of what others will pay and a cheaper 3m hood protection.

$312 for Formula One Pinnacle, 35% all around, with moleskin.
I decided to drive an hour for Formula One, instead of getting the Llumar at the local shop 5 minutes away. I'm glad I did since it was less than $100 more, and it's ceramic and done right.

Has anyone ever heard of a tint shop not using moleskin, but instead "roughing up" the stock felt? I've used this shop 5 times and always been happy, but everything I've read says to get moleskin or the windows will scratch.

$150 30% all around Madico tint.
and $15 to redo the rear driver cause someone shot it out with a bb gun...
A friend works at a tint shop.
Have had the tint for about a year and a half w/out moleskin and no scratches!

Just got our TL back from the tint shop. $300 for 20% 3M Color Stable all the way around, (except the windshield). Price was a little high but the work was incredible. The shop was also right down the street from us so it was convenient. Could've probably saved some money by shopping around but most of the places I called around Denver don't offer Color Stable, just the FX-HP.

Last 3 cars I've had I've taken to Senor Stereo in Pembroke Pines, FL. 100 bucks for 2 door and 110 four door. Took my gf's car to JR Electronics to get her 08 accord done. I was floored...never seen someone actually freehand a one sheet tint and not leave the little gap for when the window closes. I ended up taking my "new" 2004 TL there. Jose, the only installer there is awesome. Ricky is the owner. Very nice, professional and best of all 99 bucks with lifetime warranty whatever you want 5, 20, or 35%. They are the metallic solarshield ones. Look great to me, single rear window sheet, and all windows tinted to the EDGE of the glass. This, of course, is only helpful if you live in MIAMI. Bird and 95th ish ave.
My 2 cents.
