So it's going to be around $250 or less (hopefully) to purchase the smoked headlights and have them installed? Not to sound cheap, but that sounds kinda pricey just to have your headlights smoked. Let me ask my friend who works at a shop and see if they might be able to install it for cheaper (or if they even do that kind of work). I'm definitely interested in getting my headlights smoked, but again, $250 is a lot.

^-i dont think they install the lights for you. the 150 was for having the shop open up the headlights to put the piece in so you dont fuck them up at home. i for one am not going to put my headlights in the oven and will gladly let someone else do it.

i did not see this question asked, but, i gotta. In the instructions for clearing the headlights, you have to break out the amber piece. How is a clear or smoked piece going to be fastened back in??

If you take your car to Glendale shop they will do everything for $150, opening the lights, and installing back onto the car.

A bit off-topic.

For those who are going to do this mod, I'm guessing most of you would like to get LED for the blinkers. The problem with LED blinkers is that its a different current compared to halogen bulbs. Now for those who haven't found a solution yet, I might have found one for you.

I'm in no way affiliated for this website, but they provide aftermarket parts for euro cars mostly, and cary a 6-OHM resistor for pretty much the application we are looking for.

http://jlevistreetwerks.com/store/pr...eece6568b641be

This is the link, I'm not too familiar with LED applications and currents, but I e-mailed the tech and he said it should be compatible with any LED application.

I believe this should work to eliminate the fast-blinking consequence with the LED bulbs.
Also, maybe you guys can e-mail the owner, and encourage him to become a vendor here. Some of the other products might be of interest to us here. I've already placed an order for the Puddle LED lights! =D

Back to clear/smoked reflectors!

Here's a good thread about that.
I haven't tried any leds yet, but a lot of people in that thread were complaining about brightness. Maybe with the diffusers, there will be an improvement.

Well basically the stock amber reflector is what makes the light an amber color. If you clear the headlights or put in a clear reflector, the light output with the stock bulb will not be amber. It will be a white/yellowish color.

I believe it is difficult to find a replacement 7443 bulb that emits an amber color. So some people have used amber LED 7443 bulbs. The problem with LEDs is that you have to add a load resistor, and some people have complained about them not being as bright as stock.

I myself want the turn signal to be a pure white color. I might go with white LED bulbs or maybe PIAA extreme white 7443 bulbs. The only thing about the PIAAs is they're a blue color when not on.

I found this link for amber 7443na bulbs. This is what people would probably want to get if they want the amber color, but don't want to mess with LEDs.
