Safety Car
got my 05 back in november of 04. Have a little over 15,000 miles on it now. No major damage. just some minor scratches. The first sratches I got drove me crazy, but now when I get a scratch, if its not that bad, it really doesn't bother me anymore.

Got my 04 June 12th 2004. I now have 16,500 miles. Only problems have been some type of rattle from under the hood (warranty fixed), and part of the right rear and right front door handles coming off. This is the piece that sits were the key should go. I also have minor rattles coming from the front compartments under the radio. OH, and I do have the 04 seat problem on the drivers side only, passenger side doesn't get used enough to cause the issue. The interior still smells new. Other than that, I still love it.

The maintenace minder function of the M.I.D. will tell you when it is time for some extraordinary maintenance by displaying an "A4" or "B4". The number "4" indicates a replacement of spark plugs and a change of the timing belt.
It is dependent on the computer anlaysis of your driving conditions/history. If you drive under extremely hot or dusty conditions, the manual says to figure on 60,000 miles for this service. Most ppl will just go with the MID.
Most functions are controlled my the ECU (electronic control unit) regarding timing and fuel delivery. That doesn't need a tune-up.
The only other thing I do and recommed, is to run a good Fuel Injector Cleaner through the gas tank every 4th tankful or so.
Your attention to the tranny fluid is commendable and probably overkill. Be sure and do it as per the instructions in the manual or as discussed on this website in several threads. It is always good to get the factory tranny fluid changed fairly soon (like 3-5,000 miles) to get rid of the possible factory assembly debris. After than, I would say every 20,000 miles is more than sufficient and playing it very safe. Honda would probably tell you that often is unnecessary. But, it can't hurt! Oh, yes. And be sure and use Honda tranny fluid as it is different from off-the-shelf fluids. It has extra friciton modifiers.
Acura transmissions are sensitive. Older models have had some problems with overheating second gear (in automatic). There was a running fix on that in 2004 with an extra fluid delivery line to the second gear. You should check the Acura.com and run your VIN number to see if your tranny was one of the older ones that have been called in for a retro fix. If you got it in October of 2004, you should be OK (assuming it didn't sit on the dealer's lots for 10 months.) Mine was made in April of 2004 and I have the "fixed" tranny.

few nicks, and scrapes but would not drive anthing else except maybe the new
flying spur .... Interior has one small nick in the passenger seat bottom, but outside of that...looks like new.. (treat and clean the interior once every three weeks or so. Exterior is Zainoed and shines like new too.
Cheers

deandorsey - 66,000mi (100,000km): reported in June 06
AccuraTein- 65,000mi : reported in May 06
Vclune - 68,000mi: repoted in May 06
KZC2 - 68,000mi : repoted in May 06
I'm planning on keeping car up to around ~80,000. Can I get away with regular oil change and air filter change only without other stuff?

Anyhoo, no need to search, I leave my signature in all my posts in this part of the board. Just click "2.5 year review" in the signature. In about six weeks I'll be posting my 3-year review, in which I discuss a few (minor) issues that have cropped up.
Oh yeah, I'm just under 55k right now and expect to be over 60k by the end of the year.
