How many miles out of the EL42s

How many miles are the EL42s supposed to last? Thanks.

The tread is pretty shallow so I dont think they'll last very long at all.

Their treadwear rating is only 260, so... probably not more then 20,000-23,000.
Notice on Tirerack's Survey results that these tires get crappy ratings across the board. 3.2 on snow traction... geezzz..
I think I want the P-Zero Nero's.... instead.

Just thinking how long I'll put up with them if my VIN isn't in the range on the new TSB. I'd like to get some Pilot Sports, but I'd like to get some use out of the EL42s first.

I wonder what the process is for manufacturers when they choose the OEM tires for a car? What kind of deal did they get from Bridgestone to put these damn tires on all the TLs??
You know that Acura throughly tested these tires prior to choosing them as OEMs, but they still picked them... WTF?

Just thinking out loud here but since some of us live in colder climates (Pug - New Jersey) and I live in Indianapolis, then we experience the flat spotting a bit more frequently then people in warmer climates. Well, since I've gotten my TL, we've not had those brutally cold days much. So I have not had any problems with the flat spotting.

So, what would prevent someone from putting 10K miles or so on the EL42's and then start to complain come next November when the temperatures start to drop and we experience the flatspotting and then get the retooled EL42's for free from Acura?

We've used the existing EL42's for approximately a little under half their life and then get new ones.

Just thinking out loud....
