How hard are you on the gas pedal?

How hard are you on the gas pedal?
I drive my car hard some of the time...revving it to 4k a few times is my idea of driving it hard. How hard do you guys normally accelerate and can these cars handle accelerating hard all of the time? Please disregard the price of gas and just the vehicle longevity.

The issue is your transmission taking the abuse...if you have an automatic.

i dont think 4k is hard at all. unless your just flooring it to there and shifting, thats going to cause more problems with the clutch or something in the AT.
i personally drive this car like a grandpa.

4k isn't even vtec engagement, lol. You could floor it all day to 4k and never hurt the engine.
Transmission on the other hand is a different story. If you're heavy on the gas pedal, meaning that you floor it a lot, then your transmission will suffer. So will engine mounts. And in low gears, so will suspension if you induce a lot of wheel hop.
With a manual you have more control over that, although if you're not a good driver, you will find yourself destroying your clutch for the sake of compensating for your lack of driving skill.
that being said, i wind my car out to 5500 in 1st and 2nd quite frequently. I don't often redline it, but I also am not flooring the gas pedal when I wind it out to 5500. That's usually half throttle on my daily drive to and from work. Typically I only floor it when I am going to pass someone, in which case I'll always revmatch so that I can come out of the gear drop with full pedal pressure while keeping it smooth enough to not give significant shock to the motor mounts or my drivetrain. Having a heavy foot coming out of a bad downshift in a manual trans car can take a toll on a car long-term.

My preferred driving style is 2K RPM double clutch skip shifts and mat the throttle.
The pedal is to the floor very frequently, but almost always below 4K RPM. I can count on one hand how many times I made it into VTEC.
That said, I don't think 4K RPM is a big deal at all. It's severely traction limited in the lower gears at higher RPM's, and not very fast, so I don't really bother.

My mindset used to be to see how many times a day I could floor it and initiate VTEC. Until I started paying for my own gas. I swear I can see my fuel gauge drop when I floor it nowadays.

The engine doesn't sound good to me until it's over 3K, then it's got a really nice grunt, so I spend a lot of time between 3-5K, rarely need to go past that, too much torque steer anyways.

I notice my car shifting at about 3-4k from stops, I like to be ahead and away from people.
I floor it every once in a while.
Still make about 22 MPG in the city.
