How to get the best launch in a drag race
With the new TL, how would i go about getting the best launch when i'm running a quarter mile. I've heard some people say to turn off the VSA, but how do i do that? Thanks in advance.

As a general rule when racing: ALWAYS TURN VSA OFF. IT will kill your performance of the line. Also, I would suggest using the sportshift. Let the computer shift the 1-2 shift by not letting go of the gas. Then manually shift 2-3 at the redline. Account for a slight delay in that shift. On the 3-4 shift, MAKE SURE YOU GO TO REDLINE as 4th gear is pretty tall. Also note that the 3-4 shift in SS mode is INSTANTANEOUS (unlike the 2-3 where there is a delay). So make sure you take it to 6900 RPM. Good luck.

I am still up on the decision between the two, but brake torqueing definitely does not work in this vehicle, that's out. Just mashing the throttle seems to work well, but often leads to wheel spin which keeps you in place for a second. That is good, but try this on for size. When stepping on gas leave VSA ON to keep the wheels from spinning. Then as soon you start moving TURN VSA OFF and leave it off. Report back!

Leaving VSA on will cause the engine to loose power to prevent wheel spin..this is how it's designed...so leaving it off will insure max engine power to the wheels...some wheel spin is OK...melting the tires isn't....good luck!
