How to fix headlight moisture, once and for all!

OK, so lets put our heads together on this one, I cleared my headlights, siliconed the whole seam, put them back together and installed them. at night after the headlights will get moisture in them after the bulbs have been on for a few minutes, at first both headlights got moisture in them. I took the two pegs out of the fenderwell liner, popped the turn signal bulb out, and took a heat gun to both headlights and then blew air from my compressor in the headlight. moisture cleared right out. I also noticed that the fog light bulb seemed a bit loose on the driver side (probably passenger side too), which I twisted like a 10th of a turn and it held solid, but I couldn't get to the fog light bulb on the passenger side. well now the driver light is A-OK but the passenger one still gets moisture in there at night when I have the headlight on.

Please someone help, what's the best way to get moisture out and keep it out?!?!?

Humidity... It's not water leaking in... It's humid air.

If you sealed the edge correctly it's not that. Different fog bulbs?

During the day, if you don't have a good seal, humid air creeps in. At night, the ambient air cools, and the moisture condenses and forms droplets on the inner lens.

If you don't have a clean seals on your bulbs, humidty will contine to leak in.

I had the same problem. You need to make sure it is sealed all the way around. I had moisture in my headlights for two weeks after I sealed it before it cleared up. The perfect case is to clear the lights when the temp. around you is warm. At least 80 degress. Seal up every little crack on the light and bake it shut in the oven with the right sealent. Best case is to also not get it wet for about a week. If this can be done, then your problems will be solved. Give it time and as long as it is sealed well, it will stop.

If you read his post, he sounds like he has a method for getting them dry.
It seems he needs to check his fog and turn signal seals.

I had this problem when I switched to Nokya 3000K yellow fogs. They were too loose in the mount, and allowed air to sneak in. At night I'd have the condensate.

sigh...

I siliconed the seal area of the fog light bulb, but there's now staining from the condensation. darnit. I really don't want to break these things apart again, that was such a PITA.

Dude, give it some time to harden up. I had to wait two weeks before the moisture was gone. If it is still leaking after then, you will need to do it all over again. It really needs to be done when it's hot out. You need to keep it away from water for a week if possiable. I learned the hard way. If you do it the right way, it will pay off in the end. Good luck man. I feel your pain!
