Kinda like your guys in the mustang gt's and G35S's...

I actully did race my boys stock 05 Gt coupe auto, and he took me by 2-3 car legnths but that was a few weeks b4 i put my headers on i think now it might be 1 car or even , but i dont know!

Like I said B4 there alot of other cars u can make alot fasted then these FWD monsters for alot less coin spent!

And civicdrver posted this:
I think you need to reread his post. Hes got an 8th Gen Accord 6MT. They are fast. Ive taken a LT1 Z28 Camaro in my brothers Accord from a dig. There is no bullshit in his post.

And I have absolutely no problems beating GTs in my CL.

BTW i have one and our cars are SLOW compared to most cars on the road!

You posted here of coarse they where gonna say they smoke G35's and 37's for lunch..
I dunno what the big deal is our cars are not race cars they are not even sport cars they are not suppose to be. They are sporty luxo cruisers that it does it matter if the g35 or tl-s is 1/2 second faster ?
Is that really gonna steer u to buy one or the other?

A 13 second car is "quick" but relatively speaking. 12 second cars are starting to get fast.

Mike, regardless of the magazine 1/4mile times, just test drive both and see which one you like the best.

I'm sorry, but let's clear the air here.

A Manual TL Type-S 2007-08 will not beat a G37 Manual or Automatic.

The TL Type-S weighs approximately 3500lbs with the 6 speed manual transmission. The G37 weighs 3650 or so, so yes the TL has the advantage of weight but 150lbs is easily negligible by the large power difference.

Also we shouldn't be comparing the "quickness" by their peak power and weight because its all about the power throughout the gear. One guy can have a 270HP at 6900RPM, but the guy with 250HP at 6400RPM might be faster because he is at peak power earlier.

There are more variables in gauging the potential to be quick than just a simple peak HP and TQ and weight. You have to factor in gearing and power made throughout all the RPMs. In this case, however it doesn't apply, but for future reference it might.

Dude i would not take offense to anything people say through a computer.
Can't u tell most people talk B.S. and think there car is the sh()T.
I prob was the same way when I joined this forum back 9 years ago but i was 20 at the time.. People like to talk smack and say mine is better then yours becuz they feel they have shortcommings they have to make up for.

Who cars how fast your car is trust me racing and driving fast doesnt make your dick grow cuz mine has not and i did alot of racing and fast driving when i first got the car.

I grew up though , 1 reason was becuz i had a $500 car payment that I payed for and the insurance and tickets killed me but im happy i did grow up.
Cant blame them there young and havent seen whats really important yet!

How can everyone claim this? I have not seen one single video anywhere even on youtube showing an auto TL race a 6spd TL. Not at the track, not on the street, nowhere. I have seen magazine figures sure but we all know real world stuff seems to vary from that greatly.
I am also not biased here as I absolutely love manual cars as my Z06 vette is manual obviously, and so was my 05 C6 vette.
But the only way a manual car will beat the equivalant cars automatic is if its pretty much a professional driving. The average Joe can hardly launch the car correctly let alone shift quicker than an automatic.
Yes I do have an automatic TL-S and I wish there were some videos showing auto Tl vs 6spd TL.
Im willing to run mine if anyone near Chicago has a 6spd they wanna run :-) I have the HD camcorders.

I understand where you're coming from and I think you're right about 90% of the cars on the road. However, it seems like many lower hp cars like the TL greatly benefit from a manual trans, more so than the higher hp higher tq cars.

well, i don't have anything to prove and i just like seeing fast cars and havin fun on the street. from my experience the G's are quick off the line, but the TL closes the gap about mid 3rd gear. when i hit fourth i was starting to pass.

You sure that's bone stock? That exhaust sounds quite a bit louder than the ZR1 that's running around here.
