How fast is the TL Auto?

Anyone have any info. on how fast the TL w/Auto is 0-60? (I've read somewhere that the Accord V6 Auto can do 0-60 in about 6 .5sec--pretty darn fast for a "mild" family sedan...so the TL Auto should be at least as fast?)

Motor Trend test of the 2000TL showed 0-60 of 6.7 seconds. Surely the 04 is faster than this.

I have seen everything from 5.9 to 6.5 for the manual. Each driver and magazine is so different in how they test the cars. Plus each car is different. It also depends greatly on what tires they have on it (HPT?), how bad they let the clutch slip in trade for a good 0-60, do they use the clutch when shifting 1-2?

This has been addresses over and over and over and over again. Do some friggin searches before asking stupid questions. Here is the synopsis since your intelligence level appears too low to use the tools available on this site. Manual TL avg fastest, 5.7. Auto TL avg fastest 6.3 now. Go learn how to use a forum.... Will some mod please end this thread? Thanks

my .02 cents...asking NOOBIE questions or even DUMB questions is what this forum is all about. IMO, this forum is even better than any review because whatever you get from here comes from real people with real world experiences. so don't FLAME someone, esp if he's new for asking, things that have been asked before...so ndabunka....be nice, play nice and say sorry

PetesTL....we got your BACK bro...and welcome to the forums......i hope you enjoy your stay....

back to your thread...how fast is the TL auto? i guess the best way to answer this is not with numbers but with comparisons with other cars of the same caliber? i've read here in the forums that the TL is faster than the AT maxima and G35 sedan(also 5at). I'm sure it's faster than the 530i, 330i & the GS300(don't know about the gs400). this is all just off the top of my head and am kinda lazy to go search right now...maybe you can also try a search. i'm sure you know how ...i hope i was somehow able to help you.....

No, the TL is 6.7 for sure ... not faster in my book. My modded TypeS was MUCH quicker than this TL .. I miss my TL-S's power, but not its problems.

I have raced my friend in his stock TL-S 6 times in a row and then week later like another 5 times in a row. He has yet to beat me. We even switched cars and he beat me when I was in his car. The 04 TL is faster but not by much. We raced to 100MPH each time.

Roll-ons he didn’t even have a chance. Both are great cars. The only reason I got the new 04 was because they didn’t have a Type-S at the time of my purchase.

Sorry, but this post really deserves some "piling on". This is without a doubt the rudest post I have ever seen (and I spend way too much time on forums). As has been stated, if you don't like it, don't open the thread. And, exactly what makes it a "stupid question"?

I have been on the Corvetteforum.com for three years now. I can assure you every topic has been re-hashed at least every three months. It's just the nature of forums. Think about it, if they don't get re-hashed, the forums would die after about six months for every model. There are only so many things that can get covered.

jjsC5,

Agreed, people who buy the car and are excited about it so some seek out others who own the same model and then want to ask questions. Only natural, good luck with the TL PetesTL!

ndabunka,

You are a punk and hope you are slapped for your POST!

BTW before you start judging others PLEASE go the dictionary and read up a bit.

"Average" = the mean. 50/50.

I don't think the times you posted are the averages for the TL’s.

The only posts that bug me are the ones where people post about they bought the car. I don't get those. Believe me, every possible combination of color and interior has probably been posted - yours isn't different.

Oh yeah, then there are those that post "I will be picking mine up in October!!!"
