Well one of the guys at my school got an IS250 brand new for his first car (rich kid). I was wondering if my 03 TL/S will have any chance against it. The only performance mod i have done is Injen CAI, im pretty sure aftermarket mufflers wont really help me lol

If he has the AWD version, it might be a little closer. He'd probably launch better, but you have the faster car.

yea theres a kid around my town with an IS350 those things are fast but the 250 is a joke.

anyone know the HP difference between the 250 and the 350?

i went to one of my buddy's Lexus Meet with TT SC and IS250, and so on.
Believe me, If they are not modded, even a TLp can take them with ease.
I was trying my TLp against my buddy's stock SC400. We are dead even the whole entire way. The SC can take the IS250 in no time. I sat inside my buddy's car and the IS250 tries so hard but just lick my buddy's SC ballz. If you can put down money, put more but make sure he didn't mod the car.

 

I was in an RSX-S when I raced one. Started from a roll of 60 and once we started, at about 70 mph, i started walking him over and over again. I know for sure the top end kinda sucks. It was new w/ no LP and honestly i'm not sure if it was a 250 or a 350 since it was dark and I couldn't see the emblems.. but i'm pretty sure the IS 350 would've walked me without any trouble..

 

The IS250 has 204hp, even the TSX has one more hp than it. The bottom line is, if you can beat a TSX, then there's no reason that u can't beat a stock IS250. IS350, on the other hand, has 102hp more than the IS250....

 

Jpn whts the weight on the 350? lighter than the TL-S? I think i found my next race lol

 

I've seen a SSM TLS flying on the southern state parkway with a IS350. I think a little modded TLS is a good match against the 350.

If you load the IS350 with more options/packages, then the weight of it should be around around 3600lbs. On the other hand, the TL-S is loaded already except the option of having the navigation system.

 

the crank hp for my TL should be around 300 but i have no idea for the torque. sorry this is kinda like a thread hijack but what do u guys think my odds are of beatin an is350. i have all the bolt ons

Just bear in mind that many IS350 owners on the Lexus board are running solidly in the 13s, with some low 13 second passes on slightly modded ones.

Back on topic, the IS250 seems to post fairly anemic acceleration times. IMHO, Lexus should have equipped the IS250 with at least 225hp/200lb-ft.....enough to give it some hustle while still being nowhere near as quick as the IS350.

 

i think off the line, the IS350 will beat most TL's...RWD and greater torque...i think your chances would be better from a 30 roll...i'd definitely go up against one...it's a great feeling taking down a car that costs almost twice as much as yours...

the IS350 is better but it's kinda heavy... i was following one the other day and he floored it and i could keep up.. he had 2 other people in the car but still...

The IS350 is beastly for stock. Don't underestimate it.

 

sorry man.. u got a great car + mods but the IS350 will walk u..... check out its 0-60 times.. my uncle bought the IS250 AWD (since is350 is only rear wheel and he doesn't race + bad winters here) ... and my TLP walks the IS250...

IS350 is a BEAST... Lexus tuned it for great acceleration/aspirated drivin.. trust me.. no chance with that.. even the new G35's.. can't match the Lexus IS350... and i've been in a G35 (new 07) and DAMN THAT PULLS!!!!!! PULLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSsssssssssssss lol.. ehhe

 

wonder how much of a beast the IS-F will be when it comes out (V8 engine with 421HP@6800rpm with 8AT)

 

In the one C/D comparo (TL-S vs IS350 vs G35), the IS does beat the G35 0-60 and 0-100 but, the G35 starts to pass it by 120mph.

 

well basically its using the SUPRA's engine... and obviously.. its gonna the luxury version of it.. put it that way...

this is Lexus's SUPERCAR!.... kinda liek thE Nissan 350Z versus the G35

 

hehe ya.. but tahts beacuse the G35 is a lighter car, more aerodynamic.... so less resitance at the higher speeds.....besides.. no one gonna race that far to find out who the winner is! l

more like my Grandparents paid most of the money as a gift for me and my bro (since we in US and they in Japan we only see them once every few years..and gave me a huge ass suprise last year) and i paid bout 2k (7.5/hour only on weekends....i tried lol) but then again guess its not fair

I bought my Wife an 07 AWD IS250 and it is pathetically slow! I can't believe it actually has paddle shifters...what a useless waste! Compared to the IS250 I love my 06 TL. It's so much better of a car in my opinion. You'll destroy the 250! the 350 is another story.
