How do you clean the dash?

Just curious if anyone had success with any particular product for cleaning the dash, which seems to be more of a rubber texture, at least in part.

Make it easy on yourself--get the California Duster. It's all I have used on my dashboards in the past 8 years. Takes 40 seconds, no mess.

I just use one of those microfiber cloths from Costco to wipe and get rid of the dust. Easy enough!

depends. if its just a quick detail i use a duster like the california duster. but if i have to wipe it down i use a damp microfiber cloth and wipe it down then dry with another microfiber cloth. its real important to use a towel that will not scratch or leave lint behind. if you use a 100% terry cloth towel it will be fine but alot of the time it leaves lint behind ruining your hard work. Also every couple of months i treat the dash to some protectant. i use this stuff from 1Z which is a german company but makes great car care stuff. 1Z Rubber and Vinyl it leaves behind a satin finish which isn't very shiny and greasy like alot of the armor-all products. i like it more on the clean matte side like it came from the factory.

I dust off with a cloth. I'll try the duster - hadn't thought of that and it would make it fast and easy to reach everything.

Here is the link for the Dash Duster.

http://calcarduster.com/dashduster.asp

I have one and use it regularly and find that it does a great job of picking up lint and dust.

I'll third that. It gets in between the seats and all the way against the back window.

I use distilled water on a fairly used washcloth for more hard core dash cleaning.

Canadian folks looking for the California Duster...

For folks up north, Canadian Tire has the California Duster/California Dash Duster products in stock.

I bought one today- pretty good tool.

Another post references letting the California Dash Duster 'soak' into a newspaper for some reason. Was this about the small one for in the car or the larger one for the exterior? I'm kung-fused.

you should allow the any of the dusters "cure" on a piece of newspaper, just to get the excess wax off. otherwise, you'll see a lot of streaks on the surfaces that you dust. either way it will work.
