I had a Stromung exhaust on my old M3 and it sounded like pure sex. As for the putting a huge cam in it to give it a bit of lope at idle, that would be awesome other than the fact that it would still idle like stock and then have a huge changeover to the beefy cam. For giggles we hardwired the VTEC solenoid on my CRX so it would idle in VTEC...sounded awesome on the huge cam. Terrible for performance, but sounds awesome.

Back in 2001 I had a set of 272 duration cams in a non-vtec motor in my CRX. I loved how it idled but it had had too aggressive of a lift for the stock valvetrain. It floated a valve and grenaded the engine. Oops.
