How do I know if I have OEM parts?
Hey everybody. I was involved in a rear end collision awhile ago, the other party slammed into the rear of me. I had a shop take care of the damages, I mean I trust them and everything, but I just wanna be sure I have oem parts on my car. The specific parts are the rear bumper and truck. Is there something I should look for? Thanks.
I don't know about the trunk but Im assuming it is OEM just because it fits on your car and its metal. The bumper would have the part number stamped on the inside - you'd have to remove it to see it.
Sounds good, do you know where exactly? I plan on putting my aspec kit on soon, so it wont be to much of a problem.
look for small white stickers with bar code stamp identifying the part- should say american Honda on it
ask the shop to see the receipts from the dealer for the parts-
ask for a photcopy of the invoice (with their cost/prices blacked out)
"To have for when you eventually sell the car"- proof its all perfect
A good shop will do it for you
tap on the parts- OE will sound solid in comparison to cheapo aftermarket
Test against next panel
Fit should be perfect along the edge lines- like roll a ball bearing down the trunk lid to fender connection
