Question How to change the bulbs in side view mirrors in a 07 TL

*Can a moderator plz delete my last thread with the similar title? Something went wrong during submit and the thread is now corrupt.

So, how do you change the bulbs inside the side rear view mirrors in the 2007 TL? What type of bulbs are they?

I tried couple of searches but couldn't find any relevant threads.

Thanks

They're not bulbs... They're light emitting diodes (leds).

Solder, new leds, and proper resistors to match the voltage of your selected voltage...

I'd first check in the 3G TL Garage lots of great info there!

If not, perhaps try searching in either Problems & Fixes or in Performance Parts & Modifications. Who knows, maybe someone wanted to modify the color of the bulbs in there?

Sorry, I don't know how to do it, but those links should get you on your way...

I tried searching the whole forum but still couldnt find anything. I did go through the 3G garage also.

If they are LEDs, that's cool, because i'm pretty good with soldering and stuff.

What I'm looking for is how to get to it? Do I pry the light plastic fixure off? Do I remove the mirror? Do I remove the whole side rear mirror?

Any step by step guides??

It's 2007. It's a 2007 new feature... It's kinda new, I've yet to see this mod yet. You'd be the first. jptl04 is probably the closest to having done it, but I don't think he's gotten around to it.

I'm also working on getting these plastic housings off too. If you look on acuraoemparts.com they have this plastic cover listed as a seperate piece, however, it doesn't appear that you can actuall purcahase it sep. I'm going to get these off this weekend, either way I'll find out my answer and will pass it along to you lol

Oh, hmm...well like Kennedy mentioned, it's a new feature for 2007 so that's probably why you're having a more difficult time finding it too.

Out of curiosity...what color are you wanting to change them to? Or what are you looking to do?

No good... Mirrors are only sold as a "unit", thus you have to buy te whole thing, to the tune of about $180 EACH!.

I wann do a retrofit, but I'm waiting to find a set in a junkyard for that price.

Tripn can you link us to this? I was only able to see you can buy the entire mirror assembly (left or right) and not the actual plastic piece which covers the led signals.

Thanks

PN 1&2... Cool, you can order the led modules seperately.

$70 a pair though...

Is there a way to order the housing (part 4 and 9) and LED (part 1 and 2) and swap these with our previous year side view mirrors? Not sure if we need to actuator. Maybe for the blinker wire?

Hey everyone, today the parking garage attendant backed up my car and banged my driver side mirror against the column. The damage isn't too bad. The housing is scratched up a little and popped out of place. It looks like I can snap it back into place. But the clear plastic LED part is cracked. Blinkers are still working. Is it possible for me to replace this part only (part #2 left side) and can do on my own? Or am I stuck with replacing the entire side mirror housing?
