HOTTEST new mod...?

the Indy-Cator shift knob, straight out of Germany...

the 6MT owners may not like it as you have to look down to see what gear you're in, but a pretty cool idea nonetheless...

available in blue or red for $169.00...

How does it know which gear its in? I thought MTs didnt have anything electrical to do with the gears hence the reason why most ppl dont put remote starts in them??

yeah i saw that on digg.com the other day.... i was gonna post it - but then i thought - hey, you cant see it as your shifting... and it kind of looks like a autozone ricer thing.... idk... maybe if there was a HUD on the windsheild - now that would be real cool!

My guess is that there's some sort of gyro (or other electronic sensor of some sort) inside the shift knob that sends a signal to the display to tell it which position the knob is in. You probably have to calibrate it before using it so it knows which gear is where. Then it just remembers.

Not really my thing, but I know a guy who would like this (the guy with the yellow M3 if you remember our photos from a month or so ago), and I'm sending him the link. Thanks, rimz.

The cool blue display matches my lighting and the CF matches my decor, but nah...my Skunk2 knob matches up perfect with my Comptech ShortShifter...so I'll pass!

Just putting this here just in case someone asks me what it looks like!

i wonder if this gadget would have helped the guy who blew his engine by going into 2nd instead of 5th on a previous thread.......I think it would be a "ricey mod" but who cares...now who can translate the ad for us....

I'm loving that translation! You get the gist of the original German, but it's still pretty funny how the grammar is all screwy.

Nice knob darksom!

That might be an interesting shift knob if it didn't say GASLOCK across the front of it. What's that about.

Post pics and a review when you get yours. What cvolor did you go with? This would be a cool mod, but just for kicks, not to actually rely on the indicator.

He was!

I see my picture I posted for the guy is gone! Sometimes this place is micro-managed waayyy too much! Everybody does not look in every thread, as evidenced by the number of posts a person has. It (pic) ain't always posted for showing off. I love the idea that people post what the item looks like in their car so I can see what to expect, a visual if you will! Sheesh! I hope I can find someone that has coilovers in my area so I can see what they feel like in a TL before I go spend the dough on them. Before you go running around deleting people's pics, why can't you just ask why they posted it in the first place (which I clearly stated)???
