Hood Alignment

Hood Alignment
I was zainoing (new verb) my TL this weekend when I noticed that my hood appears to be slightly misaligned. One side of the hood is slightly higher than the front quarter panel while the other is slightly lower than the other FQP. Has anyone else seen this?? I was hoping that the Acura engineers had a good reason for this, but I have the feeling that it's aligned incorrectly. I don't think that this is a big problem to fix, but I'm just bummed b/c it's my first bug.

You can adjust it yourself. The hood rest on these 2 black round rubber stoppers at the front that turns like a cap on a bottle. They are at the front about several inches in from the fenders where the hood rests when closed. Turn it clockwise to lower that side or counterclockwise to raise it. Open the hood and turn the lower side up and the high side down only by a quarter turn or less and then close the hood and recheck. That's how I adjust mine. Good luck.

Ooo, Lore. That's unfortunately not a do it yourselfer fix. I believe the hinges come into play and that is something only a dealer can remedy unless you are feeling a little adventurous. Since the car is a unibody design welded together mostly by robots, it really comes down to the assembly line personnel to align the trunk correctly when installing....build tolerance variations not standing. Sorry but I can't do anymore than that. Please keep us all informed of your efforts. I am sure that there are those who either has not noticed the problem or just hasn't gotten around to fixing it. Good luck.
