HKS Hi-Power Mufflers decibel have measured
In CA, anything over 95db sound decibel on any mufflers is illegal. I've always thought that cops measure sound decibel at Idle, but i guess i was wrong.
i measured it once more last night @Idle and @3000rpm. Well......it came out 85~89db@idle and 105~110db@3000rpm. surprisingly it came out high......i felt good actually but at the same time little worried. I placed on order for dynomax resonator and i should be getting it anytime soon. i've already requested at the muffler shop to build me a bolt on type. i'm gonna install it and see if it can tone done the sound volume without any effect on sound.

Do you have silencer on the tip? It should lower the decibel. OR if you want you can take out the muffler and spray painted the muffler flat black so it won't look to obvious and just have the tip as is. It's up to you. OR just don't make your car stands out too much. Good Luck!
O ya....if i were you, i would take out the HKS stickers. Cops will notice it. But eh....it really depends on the cop.

Does California law state how far away the measurement has to be made from the car? Clearly if you put your dB meter right up next to the exhaust it will register very high. But if you're standing 50 feet away, it will measure much lower. Make sure you're making youre measruement at the correct distance.
