Hit A Deer!!!!!

Well Today coming home from work i hit a deer. The hood, front bumber and side quarter panel are trash... Im looking at the cheapest way to repair the damage. I was look at just getting a carbon fiber hood but cant find anywhere under $800.00+ shipped. Any body and hook ups??? My Next Question is it cheaper to just buy a front body kit bumper and have it painted and put on there i think the one i saw was like $315.00 and thats the whole front bumber and im sure acura oem front bumber is aolt more then that. Really im look for any input possible. And im really not trying to go the insurance way cause my deductable is 1,000.00 any way so i spend alittle more and do it my way its all good.

Good luck on not letting the parents find out....

You are looking at a couple of grand in repairs easily. Your comprehensive deductible is 1,000?! Usually people keep comprehensive deductible less and collision higher.

Smart thing would be to notify your parents, either way they gonna find out

if the fenders and hood are trashed, then you are already looking at upwards of 4K in repairs. The headlights are 2K each, then the hood, fenders, bumper, lower fogs, and any frame damage repairs. Call up your insurance, there's no hiding it. Fess up to your parents, they will understand, it's a deer, it ran out and you tired to stop but couldn't.

Theres no way theres 4K worth of damge for a front bumber, a hood and 1 quater panel???? i would say around $2,500.00 at most but i dont want my insurance to go up cause i wrecked a motorcycle like 4 months ago... the hood it self is like 800.00 oem replaces ment. the front bumber and the most money there is the paint work and then buying a front left quater panel. the head light is fine just need to be ajusted. the deer only hit me on my left side corner

Post a picture of it, heres the parts breakdown:

Bumper: 300
Hood: 800
fender: 300

Paint for the bumper, hood and fender is going to be at least 1K, then you have to add costs for frame damage, if you didn't know, the TL has ACE construction where it is designed to crumple like a tin can and absorb the impact to reduce the G-forces experienced to the passengers and keep them safe. Like I said above, you need to post a few pictures so we can see what's up really. Also your insurance shouldn't go up, its the deer's fault, not yours. If you are worried about it going up, talk to your parents and just tell insurance your parents were driving, and since they should be long time drivers, the insurance should not go up much, that is if it does go up.

The hood, fender, bumper (not bumBer) are what you can *see*. Parts, paint, pabor PLUS that stuff you CAN'T see.

Don't hide it from your parents. That just pisses them (us) off more. Man up and come clean now; it'll be better inthe long run. AND it *was* a deer. Could've happened to anybody.

Should *not* cause insurance to go up. Comprehensive claims usually don't. Talk to your agent/insurer.

Damn, I got hit by a deer two nights ago coming home from work. He ran into the side of my car, and made a small dent that I'm hoping will pop out. Compared to your damage I was lucky.

But your insurance shouldn't go up to a no fault accident on your part. Now if you were driving through a field or something then yea maybe its your fault and it goes up but I highly doubt it in this case. That would be like penalizing you for something someone else did.

go to imageshack.us, browse for your picture and click upload. Then it will bring you to a new page. Copy the last link on the page and come here, press the button with the two mountains and the sun on it next to the font thingy and a new pop up box will appear, paste the link in there and click ok

Hood looks like it can get fixed by a good body guy....u do need a bumper and a fender...

Call savage yards and see what they have....you can always get good deals there, the body shop would just need to prep each item...

Your head light might be still good...but if not you can find one on ebay for 250 or so..the bulb and computer are still good...Good luck

Tell the parents. The insurance may have deer protection.

if there is proof of deer causing this, then it goes into comprehensive coverage, not "deer protection" (is there anything even called that?)

Comprehensive claims do not increase you insurance, or change your insurance score.

No.

And one should never carry a comp deductible over 200-250 imo. Not with today's overpopulation of deer. By law, your insurance premium cannot be increased for a comp claim.

Dude just tell the parents...and go from there. I can't help but notice there is no blood on your car and it seems you gave it a pretty good hit. I find it strange that you would be hiding the car under a car cover because of this. Someone who hinds their car under a cover after an accident makes me wonder what really happened and if it was really a deer and not a hit and run. I'm not trying to call bullshit here but just saying it how I see it so please don't take offense. If you really did hit a deer just talk to your parents and tell them reason for not telling them at first was that you were scared the insurance would go up. As others have said this will be a comp claim and you won't have to worry about your insurance increasing.

The best thing to do is man-up and tell your parents......... Yea, they may be mad at first but not forever and you can get the car repaired. I was a teen once (I think) and I raised 3 of my own.....been there done that.

Not trying to bash him but the fact that he wont tell his parents and it should be covered on insurance seems to me that he may have been involved in a hit and run.

theres no hair or blood on the car.... that was not a deer, a deer wouldve damaged the hood and window because it would have been swept off its feet. man-up before you get into alot of trouble

ouch.

I played the "hit a deer" card this winter when I went into the ditch and hit a road sign with my mom's Murano... The quarter panel, door and mirror had to be replaced. It worked, but I still fessed up right away. No matter what happened, you gotta tell the folks man... There's a lot of damage there.

What are the scuff marks around the center of the bumper from? This whole thing does sound kind of shady but some of your guys reasoning as to why it must be so is a bit imaginative.
