Hey Jon! Saw your TL on independence blvd right near downtown probably a few weeks ago and it looked very sexy!! I still can't believe the condition you've kept it in and the miles are sky high! Acura should probably buy you a 4G TL for Christmas lol
Hope all is well and looking forward to seeing you and alex at our next meet, whenever that comes around.
Just curious, did you always get a ticket when you were pulled over or did you have a few warnings?
Take care!

Congrats Man - THAT'S the reason I bought my TL!
I have a '96 Accord cpe with over 373k miles on it, still on the ORIGINAL CLUTCH! I drive it about 100 miles to/from work everyday.
When I was searching for a weekend vehicle, I was looking for that kind of reliability built into a Honda product. The Acura was my first choice. My TL only has 74k miles on it, but I'm looking forward to the same kind of service I have gotten out of the Accord..
I have owned SEVERAL GM vehicles, none of which I ever got many more than 100k miles on before major problems.. I've since grown up and realized they aren't meant to last like a Honda. Now my dollars will go to the automaker with the highest proven reliability and track record - Honda (and Acura) of course!

Hey Alex! Yeah, I must have not been paying attention because I am always on the look out for other TL owners. When I hit 250k I will write Acura a letter to see if and what they could do for me if I hit the 300k mark. I will donate the car to them in trade for a newer one. I am not sure how many other cars make it that high on all original parts.
The tickets were given to me on some and yes warnings were handed out on others. If I had a camera all the times I got pulled over, I could fill this page up. I have a wall of shame in my garage on some of the tickets I got. One cop said "this is one nice Acura". He let me go with a warning and I think the car might have helped. On the big speeding tickets I lawyer up, pay the crazy lawyer fees and my liscence stays clean. I have one on my record now and thats all I will allow. It's a big scam. Get a ticket and pay the county and the lawyer.....Money is what makes the world go round!
See you at the next meet...Whenever that might be!

SS Acura TL- That is awesome news about the honda....I hope the same thing goes for my car as we all know the clutch in this car is a lot of cake to replace. I have another timing belt service to do in the next 4-5 months so a clutch replacement would not be kind on my wallet.

Congrats mmade32!
I thought someone else on this forum had an '05 with about 190k miles on it a few months ago, but maybe that was you.
I just hit 145,000 miles on my '04 TL (AT). I had to replace a power steering pump at around 80-90k (covered by warranty) and had to get a couple of new engine mounts a bit after 100k miles. Those have been the only major repairs - everything else has been routine maintenance on a bone stock vehicle - no mods. Well, ok, the service tech gave me a moonroof visor for free when I complained of wind noise after I first bought the car. lol.

I've paid my share of fines and lawyer fees! I always hire a lawyer just so the tickets don't raise my insurance or leave any points.
Haha Im not gonna be surprised to see a 4G TL in your garage inn the next 2-3 years and hopefully it'll come with a big discount from Acura.
Good luck and see ya around Jon!

mmade22 - Yeah the timing belt/water pump replacement has been done a few times - I figure every 100k miles the Accord gives me with the kind of minimal repairs like it has done so far (i.e. - had to have the starter rebuilt once, replaced a radiator once and a window motor/regulator fixed) it DESERVES the belt! Ha! I beat the H%&^ out of this car and it keeps giving more..!!! (For comparison, I BABY my TL - it gets waxed sometimes without my even driving it in between!)
When the clutch finally goes in the Accord, I'll figure it was way past due anyways. Until that day, I'm lovin' life - kinda like that Castrol commercial where the two guys are riding in the older vehicle wearing eye protection due to the change blowing out of the dashboard vents..!! You guys already know how to treat these awesome cars - keep the oil & fluids changed and they will take care of you!! I'll hit 400K miles in about a year and will schedule it's 4th timing belt replacement - no worries, it's a Honda!!!

With proper care you should surpassed my old '91 Accord at 280K. It was still running well when I sold it.

Damn I'd like to be able to keep a car that long, but I get so caught up in wanting a new car every 3 or so years. I'll be at year four this October and it's getting harder and harder lol. The only thing that keeps me going is that soon I will not have to pay a bank a single dime! I'll have the title in hand phew...

Jon, it doesn't surprise me that your TL looks so fantastic and is so well maintained. If I had some of your incredible mods, I would have a difficult time parting with that baby-no matter what the miles are.

Congrats Jon! I've followed your threads since the beginning. You bought it used in July 2007 with 30,000 miles and put on 170,000 miles in (call it) 3 yrs! I hit 97,000 miles on mine recently. Just got back from a big 5800 mile trip from CO thru KY-D.C.-Hershey-Philly-NYC-WI and back. Stopped into Hamilton Honda in NJ for their timing belt/water pump special. ($497 w/tax inc tensioner.) Now ready for the next 100k!

damn, I thought i drove alot. 5K a month, WOW!! I'm only driving 2-2.5K a month in my second car. 01 Mits Galant, it has 291K on original engine, trans, and shocks. yeah it's real bouncy. the 06 tl has 90K and still tight. purchased it two years ago with 70K. it was a lease with all the maint records on carfax. my weekend car. mmade22, are you going to the Hampton VA meet this Sunday?

To the OP, I refer to this thread any time I start thinking about jumping ship and getting something new. It's not just that the car made it to 200K, it did so with practically nothing going wrong. When the time comes to get a new car I won't be trading the TL in.
