The vette wasn't racing, he was in cruise control driving behind calmly pressing the "accelerate" button to stay on your ass, probably laughing hysterically thinking wow it's not even worth passing him, this is too much fun lol..
No seriously man, if you at WOT and he/she wanted to pass you, they would without even breaking a sweat..
Even if you take a heavy 4000lbs sedan, with a LS3 vette engine pushing 415hp (Pontiac G8 GXP) that car will annihilate any TL at highway speeds.. I mean leave you like you're standing.. V8's with their high torque have a lot of thrust at higher speed that will allow it to push hard when a V6 is running out of breath.

I'm guessing this thread started in the 4G forums and was moved here before the guy was burned at the stake.
I'm also surprised so many people think every Corvette ever made has the speed of a heat seeking land missile. Guess they don't know about the "dark years". 3 and 4G TL's (even the 5AT's) will pull on pretty much any stock Vette from ~'73-'86 with ease.

If you want to test the limits of your car, take it someplace where the other drivers know you are driving flat out. The chances that someone will change lanes, pull out in front of you, or perform some other panic maneuver are next to nil on the track.
Morally street racing is wrong. I won't get into the legal issues due to my lack of knowledge and strong dislike of law enforcement.
