Purchased 10/05
33,9xx miles

Had the 3rd gear issue...went away with Synchromesh.

Some power steering hose came undone when the car was a week old, dumped all my fluid. Had the pump replaced.

Rattles, rattles, everywhere rattles.

No other issues.

Purchased 04 TL Sept 04 with 10 miles. Now have 25,x mostly trouble free miles, except for a few rattles and replacement of third brake light cover. Today a new problem popped up - the brake pedal went mushy - diagnosis - a bad master cylinder. Should be fixed tomorrow.

this is the only thing that is confusing me. some guys are averaging about 20K and needing to get new pads and rotors, yet here is one with 62K and he's got 25% left.

are some people being conservative with the mileage vs. wear and changing pads and rotors early? or are they seriously just OWNING their brakes? my 04 6mt just turned 32K and my brembos are good to go.

i would like to go in to get the "only squeaks when i'm going in reverse" problem fixed. it's annoying.

any insight would be sweet.

Depends on how much stop and go you do and habits. If you drive all highway, you'll go far more miles before the first brake change.

Anyways...I'm at 35,800 miles and so far have had the backlighting of the cruise and driver seat memory replaced under waranty. The brake light cover was replaced to due to delam of fabric. Also.,they changed the door latch or something when they inspected the door for wind noise. There are a few noises. In the back right corner, I think the seatbelt or something makes this slight click/tap noise. The 3rd brake like still rattles with heavy base. Some other complaints are the car's seats stretching very easily. I purchased the car with 26k miles on it back in July 2007. There was no wrinkling/seat stretch marks at all. Now there are a few spots here and there all around the car. Either I'm really heavy (5'10" 180lbs) and my passengers are or the car just has fragile leather. The previous owner must have only been like 100lbs and never had any passengers.

wow Lenny, 120+K miles that's like twice the next person - that's well over 100 miles a day

I'm at 38k. I've replaced the tires and have given up on the rattles. No major issues.

Bought 7/29/05

Bought mines on April 2, 2005, and now there is 40, 002 miles on it. Original brakes and rotors still going strong.

Problems:
-The side view mirror didn't fold down on reverse. Had it changed a couple of times
-Heated seats didn't work. Had that changed a couple of times.

60k bought the car brand spankin new off the lot on 10.10.2005.

Problems and Fixes:

1st everybody remember the heat shield rattle? yeah had that fixed after complaining 3 times but was fixed under warranty.. funny coz i told them thats the problem and they didnt believe me and they put in the system that i said it and when they pulled it up the 3rd time i brought it in they finally fixed it and said yeah we found out it was the heat shield we had to adjust it.. this was the within the 1st 3 months.

2nd the auto window roll up on the driver side was burnt.. fixed under warranty. this was within 8 months from purchase.

3rd rotor was warped.. funny coz we never break hard and never go over 65, 70 tops.. but was resurfaced dont remember how much i paid. this was within a year from purchase.

4th tires got lumps in 'em...a week after i had brakes changed and rotors resurfaced. by now a year having this car gave me a second home at the dealership..

now that was 2006..

last year in 2007.. i had these beautiful problems..

1st battery died and almost exploded in my arms when i brought it in to get a new one from kragen as a temp replacement.. everyone yelled and said put it down put it down its expanding.. acura said i tampered with it so they couldnt replace it.. yeah right..

2nd transmission is bad they said.. had to replace the whole transmission.. took about a week.. they changed it for free and to a 06 transmission 5AT.

Current problems after the warranty ended and currently waiting for my tax return to fix everything..

1.Radio Unit doesnt work.. no power to it and now sound. they estimated $500 to get it fixed but i rather just replace it with a navi conversion or something like that..

2. Load creeking sound from passenger front when breaking and accelerating.. maybe the transmission connecting with something and something wasnt sealed right..

3. Noisy power steering..

4. a lot of rattles everywhere..

give me so suggestion on what i should do......

Mine has 66000 bought it in Nov'07 with 62000. The only thing that has been replaced are the tires when I bought it. I'm in the process of replacing the rotors and pads. Everything else is perfect.

Nope. I saw it, its what made me ask. I was looking for more in depth information as to what to use etc... I did a search, but i must be searching poorly, as most of the results were NOT specific enough, more of just bitching about the noises the car makes..

there is a thread in this forum that tells you how to get rid of the noises... I show this thread to the service ppl @ the dealership and have their mechanics repeat their steps... all of the annoying noise dissappeared afterward

try this link:

37,000 miles on 05 TL which was purchased on 2/22/05. 3 "major" issues that were fixed under warranty

battery died
rear O2 sensor crapped out
overflow bottle had a crank in the top, and let fumes out
