As far as kits go, DDM Tuning has been great for all us Mustang guys but I'm looking into getting a TL for my DD, i'm sure they're still great to work with though for TL's. Around $40/kit, slim, lifetime warranty, etc. Go to ddmtuning.com and pick up the 35w kit (55w can get very hot, don't want to melt anything).

About "upgrading"...you'd actually be downgrading if your went with either one of those kits (6K or 8K) because the light output won't be as bright. If your set of getting something else I would jump on the 6K, never higher than that though. If I were in your place, and I will be shortly lol, I would add fogs to the bumper and throw HID's in them. It looks great and will help with output even more!

he's saying that the bluer lights (the higher the kelvin, the bluer/purple) will make you look rice. stay factory, the color flicker is great and you get more usable light, which is safer.

I put 6000k in my TL. Looks better than stock, and no noticeable light output difference.

Put in 6k. Its a tiny bit nicer than stock and its not RICE since it matches all BMWs Mercedes, Lexus, etc very well.

6000k here:

You can buy them here: http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-236446.aspx

You can also buy the same bulbs in 5000k, 6500k, and 8000k temps. Coming from someone who used to have 8000k bulbs, don't do it. Do 6000k or under

I'm not sure how you can say 6000K matches BMWs, MB and Lexus since they all use 4300K...not being mean but the color that you see if from the light bending over the cutoff shield. Add a fresnel lens and you increase the width of the blue/purple cutoff...

they are our forum sponser and give members a discount! check out the group buy section for those discounted deals!

6K is a good temperature if you want to look different but still stay with a good amount of light. You will need D2S bulbs for the headlights and 9006 HID kit for the fogs! Be sure to order a relay kit so you don't melt the harnesses for the fog lights!

you have to remember "you gotta pay to play!" Just be glad you haven't reached the world of oil changes that cost you 75 dollars alone in oil!

I am new to the HID world and was wondering if you could just buy replacement 6k Bulbs for the factory lights or do you have to buy a complete HID kit?

D2S and ebay....you probably won't find anything that matches perfectly to the size of an oem, Philips bulb though, so your output may be affected. I had an aftermarket set that I compared to Philips D2S and the dimensions were slightly off...caused a slanted/warped cutoff
