HID Help: fogs for dummies

So, I've been perusing the threads and can't seem to find ONE dedicated thread to explaining where to purchase, what to purchase, pictures, experience and what not. Its all a garble of people just rambling, basically. So, in short, I'd like people to donate some of their knowledge to this thread instead of referring us to another:
1. where you purchased your HID fog kit
2. what exactly did you purchase (bulb type, whats included in the kit, mounting supplies, etc)
3. where did you mount your ballast (people who have had their HID fogs for a while now are greatly appreciated, since we can judge whether or not its a good location for our ballasts)
4. MOST IMPORTANTLY: post pictures of your fogs (I'm looking for any pictures, but specifically a CBP TL-S with 3k fogs).

Thank you!

i dont think you have searched....how do i know ?

1> Vendor on here : HIDEXTRA has a dedicated thread of where to purchase...people have also purchased from DDM tuning and there are multiple threads with comparisions.....
2> the full kit is purchased
3> anywhere you find a little room to mount your ballast....it can be from windshield washer reservoir to under the headlight holder....
4> see the threads started by other users they have their pix on there....

1. I've heard HIDextra is sub-par quality, had you done your research, you would have read that.
2. Obviously....but the kits dont come with 3M tape or any sort of viable mounting equipment usually, which is what I was hinting at.
3. Considering there have been threads posted about ballasts getting hot + heat from other components under the hood, people have melting things or loosened the tape they were using.
4. Most of the threads started by the users consist of either matching HID's or no pictures at all....I've searched for threads with the words specifically in the title "HID fog"

Perhaps before trying to be useless and writing a totally nonsensical/irrelevant reply to my original post, you'll peruse your way around the forums/other sites or consult with other members and actually provide some useful information. Till then, please refrain from posting on this thread again, thanks!

1. where you purchased your HID fog kit - DDM, HID Xtra
2. what exactly did you purchase (bulb type, whats included in the kit, mounting supplies, etc) - Everything twist ties the bulbs etc
3. where did you mount your ballast (people who have had their HID fogs for a while now are greatly appreciated, since we can judge whether or not its a good location for our ballasts) - to wherever you can find a spot to put them/ im pretty sure there is a DIY running around on the 3G side somewhere
4. MOST IMPORTANTLY: post pictures of your fogs (I'm looking for any pictures, but specifically a CBP TL-S with 3k fogs). there is a HID fog thread IIRC made a while ago with pics of plenty of different rides with there HID fogs

let me do a quick search for you.

@ OP:
1> HIDEXTRA's kits are actually very good (dont know where you did your research) but well so are DDM Tuning....DDM tuning is 5-10 bucks cheaper but they dont come with 3M tape/mounting hardware...HIDEXTRA does provide all the stuff....so your good on that ? Plus HIDEXTRA's service is good (experienced first hand) so thats a plus....
2> Read #1 and dont tell me u didnt find your answer there LOL
3> Can you please point me towards those post ?
4> Use advanced search...wait did you know that existed ?

Also, there is no need to be an internet hero....there are enough salad tossing dudes on the forum....wait you wont get that joke....

Also see how much you have posted/read/learned from the forums and then see mine....you will find out who is posting irrelevant threads....

@flippy: people are wayyy to used to spoon feeding....i wudnt be surprised if the OP's mom still cleans out his closet and picks what he wears that day

Thanks for the information. I guess I was unaware that my inability to post 3470'ish posts made my knowledge of automobiles invalid, as it also negated my inability to do adequate searches. I guess my being a member for roughly the same length as you is irrelevant.

You know, for someone who preaches such tranquility in the online world, you sure play the contradictive role.....hypocrisy is the word that comes to mind.

Fact: I worked my way through about 2 pages of scrambled threads under basically the same search, on this site. Took me approximately 1-2 hours while at work.

For someone whos supposed to be respected (according to your theory) because of his amount of posts made, you sure make yourself out to be an ass, congrats :-D.

@flipster - thanks for the information

HID Help: fogs for dummies-etx7a.jpg

Here's my markup of my UA7.. basically mount the ballasts on the hood trim. This will do well to keep them cool especially since the fogs will be on mostly during the day. You'll have to apply silicone to the case or seal them with some radical NOS stickers (+5hp). Run the wires discreetly through the grille or drill holes in the hood and secure mount with the wires running across the radiator over the fan shield. I have 3 fogs marked up for better DOF and I think the center one over the Acura symbol looks tight.

OP, please do not PM with threats. The reason I asked you to search because there are multiple threads that have covered the same issue and by opening a new thread you are making the already inadequate(as mentioned by you) search further more down the drain.

1. where you purchased your HID fog kit: DDM

2. what exactly did you purchase (bulb type, whats included in the kit, mounting supplies, etc): 9006 (2004 Fogs), bulbs and ballasts. No mounting hardware included. Purchased relay from ebay.

3. where did you mount your ballast (people who have had their HID fogs for a while now are greatly appreciated, since we can judge whether or not its a good location for our ballasts): used velcro (which doesnt hold up well with the heat in the engine bay and zip tied to my relay harness wiring for support. Just want it to be secured away from the moving belts/pulleys. Driver's side ballast on that slanted portion on the battery tray, the passenger on the body near the A/C(?) or is it the P/S line.

4. MOST IMPORTANTLY: I can get pics of it later.

There we no threats made, I'll willingly post the PM to anyone who thinks so. So many conclusions jumped to....to be 27 years old, you're utterly a fucking child. Welcome to the blocked list.
