Go with Osram, Philips, or Morimoto on a budget, all available at theretrofitsource.com. They really do have the best prices on OEM quality bulbs. If you want cheap you can get $10 POS bulbs on eBay.

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...ducts_id=19311

That's the closest thing to stock replacement, it replaced the 66040 bulbs that came with the car. If you wanna price shop, ask dealer how much they want, then go running back to TRS. If you find them cheaper online there's a good chance it's a knockoff.

Hi all don't mean to jack the thread but I'm a newbie to this forum and I was thinking of doing 6k bulbs and was just wondering if I had to change my stock blast too or can I just keep the stock blast and just upgrade the bulbs to 6k and if so can anyone point me to the right direction to where I can get both the low and high beams bulbs in 6k any advice would be much appreciated and thanks in advance.

Dont need mew ballasts. And our headlights are bixenon, one bulb for lows and highs. Even though 6k bulbs would give a blue color and less lumens, check out theretrofitsource.com

By looking into your past posts it looks as if you have a 2006 TL correct?

D2S HID bulb (for Bi-xenon projector internal High and Low beam via shield and solenoid)
9006 Foglight bulb

If you're really looking for a lighting upgrade, don't mess around, go right to the 30,000K bulbs.

Hey does anyone know if the morimoto D2S xb35 are xenon or bi xenon??? The reason I'm asking is because I'm looking to make purchase soon and have read a lot of good reviews on these and wanted to make sure these are bi xenon before I make purchase as I know ours are bi xenon and same question about the 9006 morimoto xb35 also any advice would be much appreciated and thanx in advance.

Bulbs are not considered single xenon or bi-xenon. That's all projector based. Any D2S bulb is going to work in our projector housings.

Currently I have the stock 4300k headlights. I also have the stock yellowish fog lights. Im looking to upgrade the looks of the fog lights. The headlights are a nice white/blue so there is no need to change that. I was thinking maybe the 3000k hid's(which are yellow). Or possibly 6000k to match my headlights. Any comments on what would look good?

If you want to stay with OEM, I'd say go with either Osram SVS, or Philips 85122 (When I talked to Matt at TRS, he said all Philips bulbs are now marked 85122 and the droped the "+" because all the bulbs are now based off of the original "+" ) Since you are looking for the OEM 4300K color.

Here's where I buy my bulbs and I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else.

I just ordered replacement ones from theretrofitsource. I can't find any real negatives with that site or the Osram bulbs

Our headlights use 35w. If you want to go 55w you are going to need to buy new ballasts that support 55w

Waiting for paycheck to come in first before I pull the trigger....Too lazy to go to my bank to make cash deposits

You mind posting some pics of it on your TL? How they look on the car and light output from the driver's side?

You can never go wrong with CBI's! Blue just doesn't look good on our car and it looks soooo aftermarket. That is only my personal view though...

Hello, everyone. I apologize in advance if this topic has been addressed previously.

I have a 2005 Acura TL. I would like to replace the projector (HID Xeon) with a newer one, since the stock doesn't have any sharp cut-off and is fading original 4300K coolish blue/white tint.

What do you recommend me to get? I was looking at this ...(FX R30 Bi-xenon Ds2 Projector)

New FX R 3 0 Bi Xenon D2S Projectors 2 5" HID Xenon Retrofit LHD V 3 0 Clear | eBay

Is this something that I would need to purchase? If so, I would also need to purchase two additional 4300K stock DS2 bulb, correct?

Thank you ALL!

The acura TL projectors are one of the best projectors out there for a factory headlight. If you want a sharp cut off you need to swap out the stock fresnel lens for a clear lens. ZKW-R is most likely your best bet.

If you do some more searching you will find lots of pictures of members here with ZKW-R lens and new osram cbi bulbs with great results.

ZKW-R lens is like $45

osram cbi is like $190.

Also do your shopping at www.theretrofitsource.com only please

How dare you speak such blasphemy!! Ignorance aside though, listen to Viet, he's right. TL's have one of the best/most sought out bi-xenon projector out there. Rather than doing a whole FX-R retrofit, just replace the lens with the ZKW-R and grab a pair of CBI's. Even the lens alone will net the sharp cutoff line you want for a fraction of the cost. Please don't kill your 3G Tl's projectors. If you do end up retrofitting them though, I'll take them off your hands

^ wow! judging by those light output photos, so totally not worth it. It's barely even noticeable shining on a wall. I can't imagine the road in front of the car would be any better. Waste of money IMO.

Dropping money on new lenses or bulbs isn't for everyone.

Go tell the people on HIDPLANET that spending money on clear lenses and CBI bulbs aren't worth it lol

You forgot the red print.

Are you seriously on a car enthusiast's forum and saying that something is a "waste of money"? That's like telling someone that spending $1,500 on a set of wheels is a "waste of money". Your original 5-Spoke rims still get your car from point A or point B right? Hell you should just sell the 5 spokes and get some hubcaps to save even more money!

It is a small difference for sure and I can understand how someone could think, whatever, who cares. But that small difference is a big "wow" to someone else and makes it surely worth it to them. Also realize pics can only show so much, you do have to see it with you're own eyes to appreciate the true clarity. IMO worthy upgrade for sure.

I have to disagree my friend.. It's a hell of a difference from stock to ZKW-R. Lighting output is 10x's better. Best lighting upgrade I've done so far for night driving..

Thank you ALL for input and help!

Left Headlight issue: I noticed sometimes the left headlight doesn't come on. I would have to flick it off/on, off/on in order for it to work, sometimes. Any idea if it's the actual bulb, or wiring issues?

Front Driver side marker light: I noticed this ALSO flicks off/on. How can I change this? And is there a DIY video?

Thanks all.

I have the same issue but noticed that the output is turning pinkish, which probably means it's about to go out.

FELLAS, it's time for new headlights. Can you please advise and confirm that these are LEGIT?

D2S: Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI - HID Bulbs - Components

CBI seems like the way to go...

Yes, get them Illustrious. You won't be let down with CBI's. That is if you're up for the price. If it's a little steep, I'd recommend XB35
