HID bulb analysis

So I was doing some research because I wanted to change my 4300k bulbs to something a little whiter but not lose the intensity of light.

So I came across this website.

http://www.powertrix.com/agoracart55...HID_Lights.htm

They did some comparison testing with the phillips bulb (not the current bulb with the +) and at 4300k 5000k and 6000k with the data sheet scans towards the bottom of the site.

4200 vs 5000. I believe ZKW lenses will make 4200k look even yellower because that is the true color of the bulb.

Thought I would share since there seems to be a lot of questions regarding 6000k ultinons vs 4300 etc these days. I am opting for the 5000k because it looks like the best compromise between color and intensity. If anyone has the 5000k bulb please chime in.

people on the kaixen say the 5000 is more blue with still good white light in front of the car on the ground
the 6000 are even bluer but you lose white on the ground- thats what you need to see potholes and obstacles
The blue picks out reflecting paint in road lines and signs-
4300 or 5000 are the best choices--the pics cannot accuratly show the color on the road..experience is what I am sharing
3000 is the actual yellow color bulbs

I'd stay away from 6000K, whether it be Philips or any cheaper brand. Our eyes do not see purple/blue light too well. Plus you want the yellowish/white light in rain too. I've ran 6000K Ultinons for about 1 month and they are sitting on my shelf. I am anxious to try my Philips 5000k's though. Ultimate light output = 4300K 85122+

6000k produces about the same as the light a 4300k produces....you get a tint of blue like a few lines above the horizon not a spectrum of blue.

5000 is natural white with no blue. 6000k is extreme white with a tint of blue. The naked eye will not be able to determine the difference between 5000k and 6000k.

Josh- do you mean looking AT the light, its not a visable differance?
or useable light being put on the road in front of the car?

they may call all of these `white` but anyone driving a TL will tell you the stock 4300bulbs had a lot of blue compared to whatever last car they drove.. with `regular lights`

Personally I think the 6000 are way blue with some white on the ground.
but I havent tried 5000s to know for sure
