Hid

I recently purchased
NEW 85122+ PHILIPS D2S HID XENON BULBS for my lows. They were the wrong fitment according to my mechanic. Does anyone know if these are the right bulbs. I have an 08 TL type S.

I am also looking to replace the fog lights. Does anyone know of a plug and play kit for this car..

Thanks

Suggest you repost this on the main 3G forum. You might get more replies. This is the audio/Bluetooth/electronics/Navi subforum, and lights don't fall within those categories.

Those are the correct bulbs for your 08 TL-S low beams. Your mechanic is wrong. There are tons of plug and play HID kits for your fog lights, make sure to order bulb size H8 for your HID fogs. Search and you'll find many many sites selling pnp HID kits. Excelerate, a vendor here on AZ sells some Kaixen pnp HID kits.

your mechanic is either 1) Doesn't want to do the work or 2) is a complete idiot.... or BOTH...

I suggest you look for a new mechanic...

Since we're on the topic? What's the difficulty level replacing the low beams/bulbs? As far as a quality goes, will they last as long as stock bulbs? If so, what brand is the best for these bulbs. Thanks in advance

AirJordan, search!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaixen, Philips, Xetronics... see the benefits of each, and pick.

Stock is always the best option for lumens and life.

To the OP,

I'll buy the bulbs from you

But yes, your mechanic is a dumb-ass... They are D2S not D2R right?

P.S. Just for kicks, ask your mechanic how did he go about changing the bulbs out... I'm sure he didnt even bother...because there are two options, take off the bumper or go thru the fender well blind...

Even if they are a D2R it will fit, just not the right light output for the projector style housing we have. D2S is the right one and I agree with the others, your mechanic is an ideot. I suggest you take your manual out and change the bulbs out yourself, very easy. Save yourself the aggrevation and then go back to the mechanic and show him. Sometimes those guys speak to you like they are god and they know more and it pisses me off!

As far as your fogs and plug and play kit, just do a search like the others stated as well. Kaixen seems to be a very good option and many people are running those on the forums. I have Kaixen 6000K lows and Kaixen 6000K fogs. Oh by the way D2S in the lows... haha!
