ok almost every other time i come on the forums i see the questions "lexus vs acura" or "bmw vs acura" or "i raced a ___ today"

so of course a debate whether or not the TL is better or worse or slower or faster ensues, which usually turns into an argument...

think about this. The Acura TL is a great car, it has more HP than most cars, but has less HP than alot of other cars. It also has a lot of neat features, it has a nice interior, is fairly comfortable, and looks pretty good.

Lets be reasonable though. Lets not compare it to lexus GS430s and mercedes S600's, which are on different levels than the TL. Compare it to an infinity G35sedan or something. Comparing a tl to an S600 is like comparing it to an 18 wheeler.

the bottom line: I enjoy my acura, i hope you enjoy yours too. But dont go around saying its better than this or its better than that or trying to compare apples to oranges. There are a lot of things that the TL is better than, but there are alot of things that are better than the TL. 35k gets you alot, but it doesnt get you everything.

All things considered, it was the best decision for me. I don't need the biggest, fastest, newest or most expensive thing on the block. That's a game for someone else.

Well said, I couldn't agree more though the race stories are always welcome in my book...my next auto will be among the fastest and the one after that will among the biggest! Need a little more fun before the whole family thing!

Its a comfortable car, its a techno geek car, its a pretty sporty car, its well priced. If you like to live in teh lap of luxery, this is not your car, go with an Sclass, if you love technology, it has a lot but is outdone by the M and other high end carsl. If you want to race go with a porche or if you are looking at something in the same price range, a lancer evo or WRX.

oh c'mon.. those people comparing TL with another just want to make sure they're not going to get made fun of or get picked on by their bmw/audi/mb/lexus/infiniti driving buddies!

Well there is one thing I can tell you for sure and that is that if you have 35K to spend on a car, you will not find a better sedan with more features than the TL. It is the most well rounded car for the price right now and I'll take the pepsi challange against any other car in it's class with my TL cold lampin.

Well since you put it like that, bringum on. I was just telling my wife yesterday that there's not much out there that will kick sand in my face. Of course, it's still 'all things considered'.

Even though I agree with you buddy. I don't mind reading some of the stories our fella TL owners post about racing. It's interesting to read and most of the time you can tell if they're BSing or plan telling the truth. Our TL is quite fast but not fast enough to win all the races on the road.

The other stories are interesting. Especially when the TL beat an S600(who either had severe engine trouble or wasnt trying). TL is best value hands down, but I would love to see AWD.

I'd rather talk about solutions to technical issues... resolutions to rattles .. NOT HOW MANY RATTLES YOU HAVE... if you have so many fricken rattles... do something about it.

I spend most of my time in the special sections of this forum (Suspension/Audio/pics) b/c the topics there are more reasonable .. and there are good questions and answers...

Hey, I resemble that remark! I've had mine for a week, and it's really fun to show it off to friends. It's very "James Bond" with all its voice commands and such. I must cop to being a techno geek, I can't wait to hack the nav system and put in my own start photo, etc.


Yeah, I almost went with the Infinity G35 because it had AWD. Decided it wasn't worth the extra $5000 or so. I'll just have to put my faith in the seatbelts and airbags!
