I pulled the trigger tonight and pickup 1 of last TL-S at my local dealership. I paid $32,150 + TTL and received trunk liner and wheel locks. I traded in my 06 TL w/navi with 46K miles for $19,600. That gave me an additional tax advantage of $1,274. I figured the most I could have sold the car for local was $21K-$22K. So, trading was a good option for me.

I couldn't find a KBP with ebony locally and finally settled on a KPB with Taupe. The TL-S have been sold out at a lot of dealers here.

That's a great buy aceman. If I was purchasing, I would've pull the triger as well. I am just waiting for the lease money factor be come down right now at 0.00270 is just crazy. I've found that the TL-S is not moving a lot, so I am hoping that October brings more decent lease deals.

Enjoy!

I had a 04 TL w/ Nav and will be able to live without it... especially at $27,801.

2008 TL Navi $45,800 before taxes and freight and PDI
2008 TL-S $46,500 before taxes and freight and PDI

Not to mention taxes are very high. After taxes for the base TL it comes to approximately $50,000.
Acura now have incentives of $3K for lease or financed purchase (at 0.9%) or $5K on cash purchase.

I just took delivery of a Base TL for $456/month before taxes without any deposit or downpayment. Lease is for 4 years, 96K km. Great car!

That's a good lease price for 15K miles per year. They are leasing in the US for $399 month + tax with 12K miles per year. Acura did have a $369 lease special in the summer.

Yeah, I originally went to the dealership thinking we'd just lease a TL. Well... I'm not sad we're not leasing.

I am assuming that the $5000 discount and your lease is in 'Canadian' dollars?

Quote from my Dealer today on a TL Type-S was 31,152.

If your paying more than me for a Base non/navi...you are failing hard

08 tl-s

Thanks for the great info everyone. I am thinking of moving from my 05 tsx-navi to an 08 Tl-s. I was quoted 34,400 OTD for an 08 TL-s, from one dealer and 34,800 from another. My tsx is in perfect condition - had a 3m clearbra put on it day one. It has 64K miles. I know I am better off selling it on my own but do you think if I push it the dealer will actually give me good trade in price on it? It would save the hassle of selling it on my own. What do you think a fair price for my tsx is?

Also, what do you think of the TL-s deals I am being quotted?

thanks!

After seeing the '09 TL I traded up as well.

I had an '05 TL (base) w/ 43K miles and traded it for an '08 TL (base). My out the door price was $11,500. I too did the internet pricing cash deal. Not sure if it was a good deal or not, but I know I needed new tires on my old TL so that's worth at least $700. I think it's a good time to buy.

I'm a bit disappointed w/ my new color (royal blue). I liked my old silver color better.

Oh well, the 3G TL is still my favorite car!

Gumila, it looks like a decent deal, but I dont know what the OTD fees and charges are, but to give you an idea, I can get an 08 TL-S right now for $31,648, so if you add my NJ taxex @7% $2,215.36=$33,863.36 plus the Doc fees and DMV fees which should not be more than $500 combined. By looking at your first quote of $34,400, it looks like you will be paying $536.64 for Doc, DMV fees which are reasonable. You are getting a good deal from what I see.

Also, the best way to help each other out (as I had posted before), is to provide the forum with a more detail explanation of the prices your getting. Separating your OTD prices will let us know if dealers are marking up Doc or DMV fees, trust me, they will try anything :>)

Good luck, unfortunately I am only looking to lease, and the freaking money factors are horrible :>(

It is indeed aceman, but only if I was buying. The past August lease money factor was 0.00133 (3.19%). right now the money factor on TL leases is 0.0028 (6.72%) which bumped my lease pmts to $505. I have a monthly target lease pmt of $430 or less not a penny more (at the above cap cost and a lower % the pmts will be $424-that's a deal!).

I know, I know, I am pretty particular when buying things. And is not about being able to afford $505, but if I have a FiCO in the 800s, I dont believe that I should be paying 6.72%. So, if Acura decides not to support leases, thats their problem not mine. Everything is cyclical and besides, I still have my college years old trusted toyota celica to beat around until I find what I want.

I am also not your typical buyer. Even if I like something, if I dont get it at the price that I want, I will just not get it. I like things, I dont fall in love with them. Hey!, I still have a regular 42" tube TV (waiting for the plasmas to go down to $500 - 46"). that should give you a picture.

I have to give the proper credit when the credit is due. I have been in contact with DCH Acura of Montclair NJ (Colleen). She has always given me all the information that I want over the phone and via emai. When other dealers around my area (Central NJ) were always so reluctant to give me specifics, DCH always kept me inform. I've told her that if the lease rates change in Oct. I will definetively give them my business. As someone in sales, I appreciate someone that goes above and beyond.

Well, lets see what October brings

Ouch, that is quite an increase. I think the used market is over valued right now and Acura is forecasting a decrease value in 3-4 years. Probably trying to offset the lower value of lease returns in SUV's within the next few years. IMHO.

Hi, everyone! My first post, and a post I hope to be the first of many if I score an '08. Have owned 2 Hondas, and am eager to return to the Honda/Acura family. I've loved this generation of the TL since I first saw it.

I'm trying to negotiate a deal for an '08 (without nav) somewhere in the $29K range. Wish me luck.

Just wanted to ask a few newbie questions first, however, before I take the plunge.

- Are floormats standard for the TL?
- Are there any extra goodies that I should request before sealing the deal? I've read this thread carefully, and others have mentioned getting wheel locks and a trunk mat thrown in before they signed on the dotted line. Are there any other things that I should request?

Thanks for any advice!

John, Welcome. Now is the time to buy!!! Find a large volume dealer with lots of inventory. I am on the East cost in VA and traveled 2 hours North to MD and bought a new TL base for $27,801 and I asked for almost everything. Mats, Cargo net, wheel locks should all be included. I went through the internet manager for my deal. Good luck.

John, I am around the tri-state (CT,NY,NJ) and let me tell you that if you are buying rather than leasing, you will have your pick. And like Blackpearl mentioned above, your deal should include a bag of goodies (wheel locks, allwheater mats, mud guards, etc). Here the 08 inventories of TL are not moving as fast as they want you to think, so dont let them tell you to move fast or you will not be able to get your car. And if you are flexible in your choice of colors, then you will really have even more barganing power.

Bad economy+bigger than expected inventory of 08 TLs left to sell+new 09 already out+people shifting to smaller cars+09 Audi A4 creating a good buzz (although more pricey)+New 09 3 series+new maxima already out (people are cross-shooping more than ever)=Ask for the moon, you will have nothing to loose :>)

This is indeed a buyers market if you have the dough and good credit.

Happy hunting and lets us know when you strike your deal

Thanks snax and rjorge3.

Got another quote from the St. Louis Acura dealer for mid $28 (non-nav). Hoping my local dealer will match it.

And, yes, I will ask for the extras with the car.

Will let you know how things roll out.

Well, I may pull the trigger tomorrow morning. Here's what I've been able to deal:

'08 TL without navigation

Includes mud guards, deluxe vinyl trunk liner, wheel locks and the 3M 'bra' for the front.

The only reason I'm hesitating is that it's black-on-black, and I really want the taupe interior (I live in TN, and it gets hot). As a result, the dealer agreed to pay to have the windows tinted.

Total would be $29,100. The best finance deal they can offer me is 4.9%.

I can get the black/taupe elsewhere for $29,900, but the dealer is 8 hours away.

Should I jump on this?

Very proud owner of an '08 non-nav Black Pearl with black interior. For $28.6, I got everything I asked for and am VERY pleased.

Congrats, this is the time to make the dealers sweat and even ask for free car wash . My neighboor got an 08 TSX last week, and boy they even gave him free oil changes for 3 years. After he left, he had buyers remorse, not because he did not like his deal, but because he felt he could have asked for more things!! we are all so greedy

I just got a 2008 TL non-nav for 27,020. White on black. The lowest I could get a 2008 TL with nav was 29,300. These prices are in los angeles.
