Help on trade TL to TLS
Ok heres the deal... i have a 07 TL pearl... Its great i love my car but i made the deal without getting what i wanted because i was in a huge rush and in need of a car for work... I leased my car in ny for:
12k a year
36 months
2500 down
375 a month
non navi
auto
What i want to trade it for is a:
pearl or black
MANUAL!!!
navi
tl or tls preff a tl type s
Ive been to 2 dealers and im looking at 6000 down for the tls with the same payments.. any ideas or comments.. i think thats way to much for a brand new car trade to a brand new car.... I love acura... I don't wanna leave it but i will if i have to drive auto for much longer..

Keep'n it clean- Orlando
Not sure why your in love with manual... I was for the first 4 years of driving... now unless its a weekend track car, I dont want to hastle with it in the traffic.
Remember the TL-S has the paddle shifting.. do you think that will give you the driving style you crave when you want it?

Well although the paddle shift is a nice feature its not really what i crave.. I don't want manual to speed (all the time lol) i prefer the drive and the control.. I would be content to trade my car for the exact same car in stick... idk what to do.. i don't like the idea of another 2 years driving auto... It kills the joy i get out of the car.. does it make sense to pay more for an option that should make the car cheaper??? Has anyone heard of a similar trade and quote ##'s???

Zeek, maybe you outta wait a couple months for the un-veiling of the 2009 TL.
See what that does for ya. You could:
1. Pull the trigger on the TL --> '08 TL-S Swap;
2. Wait for the '09's and pull the trigger on a cheaper TL --> '08 TL-S swap;
3. Swap the TL for an '09.
You're probably going to lose your shirt on an early termination, so why be in a hurry?

As a sidenote Zeek...the only way you can get a manual in a '07 or newer TL is in the type-S. They discontinued the manual in the standard TL once the type-S came out.
BTW...I get what you are saying about having a manual. My fun car (S2000) and my "daily driver" TL-S are both manual...and I love it!

Zeek...is that $6K down to get a 36 month lease for $375/month? If so, that is a lot of money to put down on a lease! Most anyone will tell you that the only reasonable way to lease (if you really have to) is to keep the down payment as low as possible.
I think you would be better off putting that $6K down on a 60 or 72 month purchase. At least you will have a little equity in the car after 36 months.

Just trying to keep things light, and not too serious.
Maybe YOU could have said "congratulations"

Honda/Acura trys to keep it quiet for as long as possible so they can unload current model at highest price. With sales slow in the industry that may change but I doubt it.
