Help needed pls. Merits/Value of a Type S
Hi Guys,
Sadly my brother's TL Type S was stolen from his driveway last weekend
While the cops are investigating they did say this particular car is popular with thieves and it's most likely gone. The TL Type S is one of the most stolen cars in Canada.
Anyway I need some help please. We have to give the insurance adjuster the merits or value of a TL Type S & we have to back it up with facts. This will help my brother get more $$. Any ideas are appreciated!

Sorry to hear about that. Didn't know these TL Type-S' got stolen that much in Canada. Certainly disconcerting to know.
As for helping get more money from insurance, as the others said, auto trader & acurazine black market & even kijiji is your best bet. Wikipedia could help but the second post containing the special features may be able to help. Good luck with everything.

The year would be a good point to start. Whatever it is, Canadian Black Book has always been the reference when finding a value, a lot of insurance companies use it to value cars. The 2007 TL-S average asking price is 14 500$ at normal mileage (about 15K/yr) and depreciation. Value average is the average cost among other sellers that match your criteria, they don't look at dealers, just other owners. This is a country wide search, so the average in your province could be way above or below. I was speaking to a guy selling his TL 06 navi for 14500$ in Toronto saying he was selling it so low because he wanted a quick sell. I told him he must have fell on his head because that about 5K more than the cars worth. He replied thats the average price in downtown TO. Not sure how true that was, but I guess price can vary depending on how available the car is.
