I'm new to the forum and TL community.

I'm about to buy a new 08 TL-S 6 speed.

The difficulty I'm having is choosing which color, however I have narrowed down to my top 2 picks:

Nighthawk Black Pearl
or
White Diamond Pearl

I love both so Pleasee help me decide!!

 

I had the same problem last week.

It's all up to you! Black is hot and stealthy looking, you can make a perfect sleeper car.

White is more visible at night, and the ass looks nicer, imo.

I went with WDP on Ebony/Grey. I love it.

My 2G TL was NBP, keeping it clean was a bitch, so I guess if you don't want to clean everyday, WDP is your choice.

 

NBP = way to go...has a nice dark dark blue to it in the SUN and at night, all you need is tints and it's perfect

I get more looks in my WDP 07 TL-S from the ladies as compared to my buddy was has the NBP 07 TL-S and gets mostly dudes who want to run him.

So it depends on your style, cruise or run.

personally i'd go with NBP, but as mentioned above, it is apparently a bitch to keep clean, and not as attention-getting as the WDP. NBP however, doe have a much stealthier and neamer look, especially if you're considering modding your TL, which you WILL end up doing if you hang around here.

But if I had to do it again, I would have gotten the KBP since its only for the the Type-S.

 

Oh, and WDP (White) = rental car. When i see a white car, i think rental/loaner car...lol.

Which come to think of it, I have NEVER had a NBP loaner from the dealership...what does that tell ya?

It tells me that statistically, they know which colors get involved in accidents the most (dark) vs the least (light).

 

colour has nothing to do with the number of accidents. idk maybe people gun for NBP? cause they're jealous?

My gf also thinks the NBP looks more badass, but also agrees the white looks nice too. If it was up to her though, she'd choose the NBP for me

I have a 2G TL in black and while I must say when its clean it looks awesome. The key words is when its clean. The car stays clean for about a day after you wash it. So the question is if you get black will you want to wash it at least weekly?

 

No brainer. WDP! 3 reasons.

1) NBP Curse (Do a search for this)
2) You'll spend countless hours a week trying to keep an NBP Tl clean.
3) The girls love WDP while the only attention NBP drivers get is from 16yr old Civic drivers wanting to race.

Oh yeah, I had the 2G NBP, and I love it, especially when polish it enough, you can see the blue sparkles in the sun, this usually lasted a day and a half.
I remember how many time I clayed bar the car.

Choose what YOU like, not what we throw at you. WDP with tints will be amazing, and its classy. NBP with tints will be a bad boy's car.

And it is true, in my 2g NBP, every other ricer was pulling to me for a race.

Thanks for all the input guys...I think I'm leaning towards the white. It's what I liked in the first place.

Also...what do you think a good Out The Door price to ask for is? I'm in VA and paying full cash

 

IMHO: NBP has the "cult-like" following. WDP is my second choice. As a matter of fact, my next car will be white. It is almost a toss-up. NBP's are definitely very high maintenance. Howevever, for now, I say NBP FTW!

 

NBP is awesome.. and I know for a fact that it gets chicks attention even though white will too, but not as much as NBP. I will always have NBP, even if I get a lambo I would repaint it NBP because NBP is where its at. If you arent gonna mod it at all get NBP because all you need is tints for it to look amazing. If you are going to mod the hell outta it, then get NBP because it will always look better than WDP!

Oh and im surprised Darksom didnt chime in yet.

And on another note there was an NBP TLer who got a WDP TLS and if I recall correctly I remember seeing him write that he regrets it and that no other car and color can live up to his NBP!

i've owned both NBP & WDP 3G's TL's..

my honest and fair analysis

NBP = Hotter in daytime WHEN cleaned properly... nothing compares
WDP = SEXIER at night...

NBP = Meaner, aggresive looking
WDP = Sexy, classy looking..

choose wisely!!

 

Go in between WDP & NBP and get a CGP like I did, compromise my friend To be honest, I wanted silver, but by the time I was ready to buy the TL (this past summer), there were WAY too many silver cars out there. I really liked NBP, the dirt didn't bother me as I'm obsessive with cleaning my car (and only me, I'm one of those that makes them put the neon "NO WASH" sign in the car at the dealership), but I didn't get it b/c I do 80% highway driving and couldn't imagine dealing with all the rock chips (clear bra will help you here though). If I only knew then, I may have decided on NBP.

I'm happy with the CGP though - it's different and you every other TL you see is either WDP or NBP.

Acura White is horrible. How could anyone go for it. The bumpers NEVER match!!!!

 

I have an 04 NBP and it's hot. My gf picks me up every night at the gym and when I see my NBP rolling up it looks so nice. Especially after it just stops raining and the rain drops are beading off. On the other hand, I've been guilty of staring at WDP on the streets.

My lease ends in March and I'm in the market for an 08 TL-S. I'm also debating between NBP or WDP. I'm leaning towards WDP. I still have time to change my mind though.

 

go look at a USED 2 years old Black. you' ll choose White no question ask. LOL
