Help to experiment with different power sources for LEDS

So i got some really cheap LED strips that i ordered today from ebay, i am just looking to experiment to the various light sources that i can tap into for the LED mods that i want to do.

Can some of you list some DIYs and instructions for various power sources for 12V LEDS around the car in the interior as well as a power source where i could do for lower grill LEDs

also what kind of normal battery could i use to power LEDs, i was playing around with the square 9V batteries, something went wrong. it became very warm and stopped working...

hrmm did u hook it right? if it get really warm u might have toasted the resistors, for my led strip im testing it by using a cigarate charger choped the wire and had one positive and one negative that i hook up, this is for me to test the leds

Yeah it is ok to light them with a 9v but you have to make sure there is a resistor as well. They will draw way too much current and burn out if you dont use one.

With a 9V battery you need to determine if the string is designed to run at 12V or lower if using a resistor; for series/parallel runs of single, chained LEDs, you may or may not need to use a resistor depending on the Vf (forward voltage) and schematic. The source will vary depending on where you want to use it...you can tap from a myriad of sources, but without knowing where you intend on using them, this cannot be answered.

Dude, your English is abominable. Am I to interpret this as "A light in each footwell and a light in the lower grilles?"
